YART will be Yamaha's reference team at the 8 Suzuka 2022 Hours with a special livery for the No. 1 R7.

With the 2019 edition and a record of 4 victories and a second place, the Yamaha Factory Racing Team's five-year project at the Suzuka 8 Hours has come to an end. Consequently, this year, during the “Race of Races”, we will not find the #1 R21 on the track, but nevertheless the house of three tuning forks will see in YART its reference team for the emblematic Japanese round of the FIM calendar EWC. For the occasion, as planned from 2020, the R1 #7 will wear a special livery.

YART AT THE 8 HOURS OF SUZUKA 2022
An acronym for Yamaha Austria Racing Team, YART has represented Yamaha in the World Endurance Championship for many years, and also features prominently at the Suzuka 8 Hours. In 2012-2013 with Katsuyuki Nakasuga, he took two pole positions, the best result being a fourth place. For 2022, they are aiming for the podium, relying on the starting trio of Niccolò Canepa, Marvin Fritz and Karel Hanika.

SPECIAL DELIVERY
For the 8 Suzuka 2022 Hours, as had already been planned for the canceled 2020 edition, the YART will abandon its classic blue livery and adopt a color palette where we find the brand of the parent company YAMALUBE and the product RS4GP.

THE HUNT FOR REDEMPTION
YART sees the Suzuka 8 Hours as the last chance to reopen the championship games after the podium at Le Mans and retirement, as race leader, after 18 p.m. at Spa Francorchamps. In 2019, in one of the most competitive and hotly contested editions of all time, he managed to finish sixth in the general classification, with Niccolò Canepa practically setting the new Italian lap record in 2'06.672.
