The very eventful race of the 12 Hours of Estoril shook up the provisional classification of the 2021 FIM EWC World Championship. In the race for the world title, Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar takes the lead ahead of FCC TSR Honda France, winner of the race in Portugal , and the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team.

The 12 Hours of Estoril race surpassed all predictions in terms of spectacle and sporting suspense. Qualifying saw YART – Yamaha Official EWC Team, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team and Yoshimura SERT Motul as favorites to win in Portugal. These three official teams took control of the race at one point but all fell and lost their chances of winning at Estoril.

Following this series of falls by the leaders, Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar took the lead of the race but due to a fuel shortage a little less than two hours from the finish, Kawasaki ceded control of the race to FCC TSR Honda France.

The end of the race was particularly competitive to secure a place on the podium behind the official Honda. Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar and BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team finished in the same second and in that order on the podium.

VRD Igol Experiences, firmly established in the Top5 throughout the race, held on for a long time in 2nd position but gave in three laps from the finish under the pressure and experience of Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar and the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team . All this has shaken up the rankings for the 2021 FIM EWC World Championship.

Four teams in 11 points
Second at the 24 Heures Motos and the 12 Hours of Estoril, Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar takes the lead in the provisional world ranking with a narrow lead. After a difficult race at Le Mans, the victory at Estoril allows the FCC TSR Honda France to leap into second place in the provisional world ranking, 5 points behind the Kawasaki team. Third in the first two events of the season, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is third in the world rankings, 7 points behind the leader. In the lead after his victory at Le Mans, Yoshimura SERT Motul is now fourth, 11 points behind Kawasaki.

First private team and first ranked Yamaha, VRD Igol Experiences holds on in fifth position, 26 points behind the leader. He is ahead of ERC Endurance-Ducati, which finished 7th at Estoril after a crash, and the YART – Yamaha Official EWC Team which had another bad operation after its retirement at Le Mans.

Superstock duel
In the FIM Endurance World Cup, the gap is closing between National Motos, winner at Le Mans, and the BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, winner at Estoril. Only two points now separate these two teams, far ahead of Team 33 Louit April Moto, No Limits Motor Team, Pitlane Endurance 86, Energie Endurance 91, Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore (which moved up from 20th to 7th position). in the ranking thanks to their 3rd place Superstock in Estoril) and Slider Endurance. Falcon Racing and Players complete the Top10 but are already 70 points behind the category leader.

Next meeting on September 18 and 19 at the Bol d'Or with a maximum of 55 points to be taken for the winner.
