Born from a real need, the European Endurance Legend will see its first round take place on the Paul Ricard circuit on March 24, 2018, as part of the 10th edition of the Sunday Ride Classic.

Le European Endurance Legend, what is this ?

This is an Endurance competition approved by the FIM as a European Cup and bringing together the truly classic motorcycles, those who forged the legend of this discipline.

Indeed, for 2 years, classic endurance races have been slowly sliding towards more modern motorcycles (with the Post Classic category which accepts for example the RC 30, ZX7R, CBR etc.) with their large 17 wheels, their frames perimeters, etc., with lines close to current sports cars with their profiled coverings. A development which left many crews perplexed and pushed several teams to abandon these events.

To keep the stamp and authenticity which befits a test truly classic, it was important to favor the quality and variety of the motorcycles, the originality of the cycle parts (such as the chassis of preparers like Corki, Egli, Harris, Martin, Moko, Nico Bakker, PEM, PEMDA, Rau, Rickman, Rob North , Seeley, Spondon, Verlicchi, etc.), the silhouettes with the frail 18 wheels and their thin tires, and the short fairings revealing the chassis and engine. In short, the brands of real classic motorcycles!

With specific regulations for these truly classic machines, variety should be there, and we will find Japanese 4-cylinders, obviously, but also BMWs, Guzzis and others, in fact excluded from classic events which have become too modern!

Le European Endurance Legend will therefore see its first round, lasting 4 hours, take place at Paul Ricard on Saturday March 24 at night, and, for its first year, will be extended by an event in the United Kingdom and one in Germany.

50 machines are expected on the track, to commemorate the great times of amateur endurance crews!
