Unquestionably, Jules Danilo has been in a phase of progression since the start of this season, which now allows him to regularly appear around 10th position in a field made up of 34 drivers.

In Catalonia, after concluding the free practice sessions in 12th, 5th and 18th position, the French driver qualified in a good 8th place, four tenths behind Brad Binder, thus equaling his best performance of the year in this exercise.

A comfortable situation which allowed the holder of the Ongetta-Rivacold team to envisage an arrival at least in the Top 10, or even, with the aspirations and hazards of a Moto3 race, in the Top 5.

Unfortunately for him, these latter, the hazards, materialized by the pair Hiroki Ono and his Honda, worked this time to his disadvantage, and this, from the start of the Catalan race.

Number 95 must now transfer its hopes to Assen to improve on his best race result of the year, namely a double 9th place, in Austin and Jerez.

Jules Danilo: “Unfortunately, the race was quite short. I did two laps then Ono went wide in the first corner and did a highside coming back into line. Due to bad luck, I was just behind and didn't have time to do anything.
I'm more than disappointed because my whole weekend had been good and, honestly, I could see that the leading group was starting to take shape and I had an ideal position to analyze what was going to happen. I was really very, very calm at the back and we were already starting to build a small gap with the guys behind, so all hopes were allowed…
I did my best to show off this weekend, and now, because of a fall in front, the weekend ended on a bad note. But hey, let's try to stay positive, I think we've made big progress, I was really comfortable on the bike this weekend and quite often in the ten, so there's a lot of positive. Now we have to find this good feeling again in Assen and continue to progress. »
