Arguing that a curve in the name of Luis Salom would not be enough to pay tribute to the man who lost his life during the practice sessions for the Catalan Grand Prix (and we recognize that it would undoubtedly be in doubtful taste), the Fan Club of Mexican claims a world circuit in his name.

For this, he launched a petition which has, for the moment, collected 2000 signatures.

For many reasons, attempting to rename a circuit is a very difficult undertaking and one that is unlikely to succeed.

To date, the only world circuit bearing the name of a missing person is that of Misano (Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli), because the one we nicknamed SuperSic  was very charismatic, the child of the country in MotoGP (with Valentino Rossi)… and that the circuit does not welcome F1, unlike the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalonia.
