The traditional press conference of the French Motorcycling Federation was held this Wednesday, January 18 at Porte de Versailles in the City of Lights.

The opportunity for its President, Sébastien Poirier, to look back on the season which has just passed and to present the challenges and prospects of the motorcycle activity in 2023. It is therefore within Pavilion 7 that all the players in motorcycle sport, in their very large diversity, and the 2022 Champions, honored with an awards ceremony, were welcomed. A strong moment allowing us to launch this new vintage with conviction and passion.

Review of the 2022 season :

Licenses & practice titles: Historic year for the French Motorcycling Federation which recorded 102 licenses and practice titles issued in 615, an increase of 2022% compared to 5,6, considered a reference year. Record year for annual licenses with 2017 subscriptions. The other practice titles are distributed as follows: 64 “one event” licenses and 337 “circuit passes”.

Test results: More than 800 events (excluding Moto-Ball) were organized in the region in 2022. 47% of them are represented by the Motocross discipline, followed by Speed ​​(17%), Enduro (16%) and Trial (13%). The French Motorcycling Federation is delighted to return to its pre-crisis level thanks to an extremely dynamic associative network. It is also necessary to underline the distinction of two international events taking place in France for their quality of organization: The French Grand Prix counting for the FIM MotoGP World Championship, organized by PHA, and that counting for the FIM Motocross World Championship under the aegis of the Ernée Moto-Club.

Governance Reform : The democratic life of Federation will evolve for 2024 elections. A fundamental reform of the statutes of the Federation was voted in 2022. New for 2023:

Free official license for first-time buyers : In order to help the clubs to reconstitute their base of volunteers necessary to ensure the supervision of events, the FFM decided to offer the first official license subscribed for any person who has validated a qualification: track marshals, race directors, technical commissioners or timekeepers. Each season, there are more than 10 officials who supervise the events and ensure the safety of the competitors through their various skills.

Creating a hiking pass : In order to better supervise the practice ofEnduro on “vehicleable” paths, the only authorized practice, Federation launches a new title for subscription. At the price of $25, THE hiking pass will allow pilots to participate in supervised hikes and to be covered by civil liability and individual accident insurance.

Single pricing for an event license : Only one rate will be in effect starting this season 2023 (compared to 2 previously) for this practice title with limited validity (of 1 to 4 days depending on the event) to participate in a training, a competition or even to a training (excluding classics), without having annual license. At the single rate of $75 (online), the latter will allow its subscriber to participate in the event of their choice.

Payment in 10 installments : It is now possible to adjust its annual license (training ou competition) in 10 times. A new commercial approach aimed at meeting the demands of fired and adapt to new means of payment.

Development of the practice:

Sustainability and development of the activity: As part of its proactive policy of sustainability and development of the activity motorcyclist on the territory, the Federation acquired in 2022 du Cabannes Motocross circuit (13) and the practice site of Courcoué-sur-Logne (44) which leads to 18 the number of fields under federal control. The FFM celebrates its 110th anniversary : Anniversary year for the French Motorcycling Federation who will celebrate in 2023 proven 110 years old.
