The traditional press conference of the French Motorcycling Federation was held this Wednesday, January 18 at Porte de Versailles in the City of Lights.
The opportunity for its President, Sébastien Poirier, to look back on the season which has just passed and to present the challenges and prospects of the motorcycle activity in 2023. It is therefore within Pavilion 7 that all the players in motorcycle sport, in their very large diversity, and the 2022 Champions, honored with an awards ceremony, were welcomed. A strong moment allowing us to launch this new vintage with conviction and passion.

Review of the 2022 season :
Licenses & practice titles: Historic year for the French Motorcycling Federation which recorded 102 licenses and practice titles issued in 615, an increase of 2022% compared to 5,6, considered a reference year. Record year for annual licenses with 2017 subscriptions. The other practice titles are distributed as follows: 64 “one event” licenses and 337 “circuit passes”.
Sports results: Our French pilots have carried the colors of our country high on the European and International stages. The results of the 2022 season stand at 7 world titles, 6 World Cup winners, 8 European titles and 20 podiums. Click here to download the sports rankings.
Test results: More than 800 events (excluding Moto-Ball) were organized in the region in 2022. 47% of them are represented by the Motocross discipline, followed by Speed (17%), Enduro (16%) and Trial (13%). The French Motorcycling Federation is delighted to return to its pre-crisis level thanks to an extremely dynamic associative network. It is also necessary to underline the distinction of two international events taking place in France for their quality of organization: The French Grand Prix counting for the FIM MotoGP World Championship, organized by PHA, and that counting for the FIM Motocross World Championship under the aegis of the Ernée Moto-Club.
Governance Reform : The democratic life of Federation will evolve for 2024 elections. A fundamental reform of the statutes of the Federation was voted in 2022. The voting method will be list and the Motorcycle Clubs will integrate the electoral scheme with a right to vote up to Present in several = 50%. THE Regional Motorcycle Leagues and Departmental Committees will each benefit from Present in several = 25% of voting rights.
Redesign of the visual identity of the FFM : The last November 3, FFM unveiled its new visual identity. A profound change of image aimed at attracting a wider audience. In this perspective, the Federation evolved the acronym “FFM” which only resonated with the initiated and to highlight the word " Motorbike ". By this posture, the Federation stands as the standard bearer of a community which demands more freedom, more sensation and more sharing.
Generation Speed : The modernization of the speed course initiated in 2022 is a great success. Eight leagues organized a Mini OGP Regional Championship salary. 2 en 2021 totaling 38 tests disputed over 25 karting tracks different by counting the French Mini OGP Championship. Top of the pyramid, the French OGP Championship attracted an average 20 pilots on 7 tests in the program. The best tricolor were offered by the French Motorcycling Federation of wildcards on theEuropean Talent Cup. THE collectives Mini OGP and OGP France aimed at supporting the best young people by a federal supervision during internships are renewed in 2023 with always like godfather Johann Zarco.
French Motorcycling Schools : Two years after the implementation of the new policy of labeling of French Motorcycling Schools aiming to better promote these structures and democratize access to the practice for as many people as possible, the results are very positive. In 2022, 63 additional schools have obtained the label relating to 148 le total number of labeled structures on the territory. An increase in attendance at schools should be noted thanks in particular to communication actions.
Sanctuary of the practice among the youngest:
New dynamic for the Minivert : Championship emblematic which made and hatched the Champions of discipline Motocross at the highest level, the Minivert made his revolution in 2023. The test cycle will be protected for young people and will take place without association to another championship. It will welcome a new category dedicated to 6/8 year olds on machines 50 tsp with an electrical challenge. Also, the other categories have been reorganized for better route signage. Partners will join the adventure and a major promotional system will be set up on the 7 tests in the program.
Note, the French Enduro Kid and Cross Country Enduro Kid Championships will continue their development in 2023 after a season marked by a increase in the number of participants. Finally, the French Mini Trial Championship will allow young people to try their hand at competition from 6 years.
New for 2023:
Free official license for first-time buyers : In order to help the clubs to reconstitute their base of volunteers necessary to ensure the supervision of events, the FFM decided to offer the first official license subscribed for any person who has validated a qualification: track marshals, race directors, technical commissioners or timekeepers. Each season, there are more than 10 officials who supervise the events and ensure the safety of the competitors through their various skills.
Creating a hiking pass : In order to better supervise the practice ofEnduro on “vehicleable” paths, the only authorized practice, Federation launches a new title for subscription. At the price of $25, THE hiking pass will allow pilots to participate in supervised hikes and to be covered by civil liability and individual accident insurance.
Single pricing for an event license : Only one rate will be in effect starting this season 2023 (compared to 2 previously) for this practice title with limited validity (of 1 to 4 days depending on the event) to participate in a training, a competition or even to a training (excluding classics), without having annual license. At the single rate of $75 (online), the latter will allow its subscriber to participate in the event of their choice.
Payment in 10 installments : It is now possible to adjust its annual license (training ou competition) in 10 times. A new commercial approach aimed at meeting the demands of fired and adapt to new means of payment.
Development of the practice:
Sustainability and development of the activity: As part of its proactive policy of sustainability and development of the activity motorcyclist on the territory, the Federation acquired in 2022 du Cabannes Motocross circuit (13) and the practice site of Courcoué-sur-Logne (44) which leads to 18 the number of fields under federal control. This policy will intensify in 2023 with 6 acquisition projects.
Sound emissions : Again sound levels will be applied in 2024 for practice in competition and in training. Collective awareness is necessary in order to perpetuate our sport and to best understand the new regulations. For this purpose, the FFM will raise awareness 2023 practitioners through several communication supports provided to all Leagues, Departmental Committees et Motorcycle Clubs.
Defense of supervised practice : Last November, theEn'duo made national headlines following the sabotage of the event by a group ofminority environmental activists despite its authorization by prefectural decree. There FFM and the CODEVER gave their full support to the President of the Enduro Club Aubussonnais which was given during the press conference un honorary prize by Sébastien Poirier in order to salute him for his combativeness. THE President of the FFM reaffirmed its commitment to these intolerable and irresponsible behavior which go against a supervised and secure practice.
FFM X FFSA environmental barometer : Faced with these societal issues, the FFM and the FFSA work jointly on a environmental barometer which will be presented in the first semester 2023. The objective is to show that thecarbon impact of motor sports is minimal and we wish to place our activities within the framework of a lasting project.
The FFM celebrates its 110th anniversary : Anniversary year for the French Motorcycling Federation who will celebrate in 2023 proven 110 years old. It is indeed the March 3, 1913 that theFrench Motorcyclist Union, which would become 1945 la French Motorcycling Federation, was created at Paris. Numerous activations will be scheduled throughout the season.
