The National Road Safety Council (CNSR) held its first plenary session of 2021 on Wednesday February 3. Three expert reports had been communicated ahead of this meeting. The content of these reports, in particular that which deals with the safety of motorized two-wheelers, has provoked the reaction of the main representatives of motorcyclists who denounce the unconstructive way of approaching road safety in general, and especially that of two-wheelers. motorized. As if nothing had changed: yet motorcycle accidents continue to fall while the number continues to increase, and explaining and reinforcing the reasons would undoubtedly be an excellent solution!

From the title of the report which concerns motorized two-wheelers (2WD), the chosen angle is obvious: “ towards a use adapted to their vulnerability ". These pseudo-experts who want our good do not consider us capable of being aware of it ourselves. This is an incriminating report, we are dealing with prosecutors.

AXIS 1 : repression at all levels as the first axis! Without forgetting the destruction of the relationship of trust between policyholders and insurers.

AXIS 2 : PPE, nothing new, absolutely nothing... Everything has already been proposed, studied, addressed, rejected, since the Guyot report in 2008 until recently in the commissions of this Council, including the States General and the Consultation on the 2WD.

AXIS 3 : Visibility/detectability, again measures already discussed, already rejected... The 2WD must be visible to protect itself from other users. We are a long way from the new road safety slogan “Living together”!

AXIS 4 : More technology… What a lack of understanding of bikers and the world of motorcycles. The manufacturers, who are largely absent from this council, could confirm that if the fleet is aging, it is due to a lack of financial means to renew it: it sells for 2.5 used cars for a new one!

AXIS 5 : Training. It should be axis 1! We've been asking for it since we existed!

AXIS 6 : Infrastructure. Finally ! They should be axis 1 bis! What about the proposals made by the FFMC for 40 years?

The new slogan of the DSR is “ live togethere ", but apparently, for these " experts ", it would be without 2WDs who are dangerous people, responsible in all cases for their accidents, poorly trained, poorly equipped, unaware of their own safety. And yet for 40 years, motorcycle mortality has continued to decline: more than 1 killed per year for 000 users at the end of the 300s to 000 killed (even if of course it's still too much!) for 70M d users today. That’s TWENTY times less. And we are the bad students of the SR?

FFM: request for an immediate moratorium

We are calling for an immediate moratorium. A STOP. And a discount on the work of the work with real consultation.

2WD vehicles are vulnerable users like any other. We demand the same treatment, without any stigma. We represent 22% of deaths for 2% of traffic? Let us then give 22% credit to our skills, our knowledge, our expertise. We would know what to do with 22% of the SR budget…

Improvements in 2WD safety cannot be done without the users concerned.

We will not accept this 15-year look back on this subject that concerns US: OUR SECURITY.

It is practice that provides expertise: this is the reason for our presence in the CNSR, the parliament of the SR. We are practitioners, we are the experts, there are 3 million of us and no one will decide the future of motorcycling without us.

We consider that 2WD constitute a solution to road traffic and not a difficulty.
