With this tragic news coming from Spain and which concerns the young 14-year-old hopeful Hugo Millàn, it is clear that, this season, destiny is decidedly merciless for the young generation who wants to reveal themselves on the slopes. The Spanish teenager succumbed to injuries sustained after a fall during Race 1 of the ETC (European Talent Cup) of the CEV world championship in Aragón. The unfortunate driver remained on the track after a highside on the 13th lap and he could not be avoided by another competitor, in this case the Pole Oweg Pawelec.

It was a terrible chain of circumstances that left the motorcycle world in mourning this Sunday afternoon. The drama played out during Race 1 of the ETC in Aragon. Millán, only 14 years old, lost control of his bike 13 laps from the goal, with the misfortune of then being hit by the Polish rider Pawelec, who could do absolutely nothing to avoid the race.

The race was stopped at the red flag so that the ambulance could access the Aragon track, where Hugo Millan was treated by the circuit's medical services. From there, the Cuna de Campeones team driver was transferred by helicopter to Zaragoza General Hospital shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to his team.

Unfortunately, the doctors could do nothing to save the life of this very young pilot from Huelva, who ultimately died in the intensive care of the said hospital.

« We deeply regret to announce that Hugo Millán has left us“, reported the Cuna de Campeones. “ We will always remember you for your smile, your big heart and your professionalism. Rest in peace, Hugo. You will always be in our hearts and we will remember you like that, smiling, as always. We love you."

Hugo Millán, who topped the European Talent Cup before the Portuguese event after collecting four podiums, was currently in third position in this championship behind his two teammates, Xabi Zurutuza and Adrián Cruces.

After hearing the news of his death, the organization END CEV Repsol has decided to cancel the rest of the races scheduled for this Sunday at Motorland.
