During this first Moto2 race in Barcelona, pole sitter Jesko Raffin (Kalex, Swiss Innovative Investors Junior) (see here) was able to secure his first place on the starting grid against attacks from Edgar Pons (Kalex, AGR Team) before he surrendered, then from Augusto Fernandez (Suter, EasyRace), author of a very nice comeback after a more than average start from 4th position on the grid.
Just behind this trio, we witnessed a great fight between the 2 holders of Team Wimu CNS who are running Mistral M 610s. In the end, it was Hector Garzo who took the lead over his teammate, by 4 hundredths of a second!
French fans deplored the non-participation of the TransFiformers, this having been destroyed the day before by Enzo Boulom avoiding a pilot in distress, while Cedric Tangre reached the finish line in 7th position, more than a minute behind the winner.
During the 2nd race, the Spaniard Augusto Fernandez made the most of his Suter to take victory, by 2 tenths, ahead of the inevitable Jesko Raffin on Kalex, while it's this time Lukas Tulovic who got the most out of the Mistral M610, his teammate suffering a slow puncture and having to settle for 7th place.
Edgar Pons, 4th, continues to accumulate big points while we note the presence of the Speed Up of Tommaso Marcon in the Top 5, certainly at 21 seconds.
Cedric Tangre, meanwhile, climbed to 14th position, 58 seconds behind Fernandez.
In the championship, Jesko Raffin is now 10 points ahead of Augusto Fernandez, but its future will now be written in the world championship, replacingHector Barbera within the Pons HP40 team (See here).
