Following the meeting between representatives of the Moto2™ teams held last October to share views and discuss the technical regulations of the engines for the 2020 season, it was agreed that the only engine for the championship European Moto2™ would remain unchanged for the 2020 season. That is, it is mandatory to use the Honda CBR 600 RR engine.

At that time, there was discussion of postponing the use of the Triumph Moto2™ engine until the 2021 season.

Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, the decision of the FIM CEV Repsol is to reduce costs for the next 2021 season and therefore the compulsory use of the Honda CBR 600 RR engine will be maintained. The authorized models are: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020. (PC40x type).

Further decisions regarding the use of the Triumph Moto2™ engine for the 2022 season will be considered in the future.
