Suspense was the big absentee from this third meeting of the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship in Barcelona!

In qualifying, Fermín Aldeguer (Boscoscuro #54, Boscoscuro Talent Team – Ciatti) took pole position ahead of his teammate Alonso lopez (# 21) and Lukas Tulovic (Kalex #3, Liqui Moly Intact SIC Racing Team), a result that we could also see on the podium in races 1 and 2.

Thus, with 5 victories in 5 races, Fermin Aldeguer is 25 points ahead of his teammate who has finished second 5 times: Admit that in terms of suspense, we do better!

So, it would be easy to deduce that the Moto2 Boscoscuro, formerly called Speed Up, are above the rest, as they were also last year, Yari Montella obtaining 8 victories in 12 races, including 6 in a row, before being titled.

This is undoubtedly partially true, even if it is not really verified this year in Grands Prix, where the three machinesAron Canet (India Aspar Team), Jorge Navarro (MB Conveyors Speed Up) and Albert Arenas (India Aspar Team) only appear in 10th, 14th and 21st positions in the championship.

Going into a little more detail, the one who dominated the 2020 season in CEV, Yari Montella, has still not scored any points in Grands Prix despite four participations within the MB Conveyors Speed Up team, until an accident at Le Mans. Too early to draw definitive conclusions, but we note however that his replacement within the MB Conveyors Speed Up team of Luca Boscoscuro, precisely Fermin Aldeguer in Italy, only needed one race to score 4 points at Mugello.

Once again, there are too few elements to be certain that the very young Fermín Aldeguer (born in 2005) has a much more promising talent than his Italian elder born in 2000, but let's say that his unusual background and his 16 years argue a little for this hypothesis.

This is undoubtedly why, according to the Spanish press, Luca Boscoscuro has already offered the young native of Murcia Jorge Navarro's place in the world championship next year.

We will thus be able to really compare Yari Montella et Fermín Aldeguer riding the same machines, with the same opponents on the same circuits and at the same time...

In the meantime, the very young Spaniard with an already eclectic background (European Talent Cup 2019, Superstock 600 FIM CEV in 2020, Moto2 FIM CEV and Mondial MotoE this year) completely dominates the European Moto2 championship, following in the footsteps of his transalpine predecessor.

Next meeting on July 4 in Portimão.
