Race 1: Fermín Aldeguer victorious, Alonso López 2nd. The two rookies from Boscoscuro Talent Team Ciatti triumphed in Estoril, while 3rd place went to Adam Norrodin.

They leave in the wake of the category title they won in 2020. The men of the Boscoscuro Talent Team Ciatti, renamed, restart as contenders for this new season of the European Moto2 Championship, with the victory of Fermin Aldeguer, reigning STK600 champion, and the second step on the podium for the former Moto3 World Cup rider, Alonso lopez. What a great start for the two rookies of the Italian team, who triumphed in race 1 at Estoril with a large lead over their pursuers. Third place final for Adam Norrodin, while conversely the poleman Lukas Tulovic fell. But he will perhaps have the opportunity to make up for it in the second race scheduled for this first weekend of 2021 on the Portuguese circuit.

The Race
The morning warm up took place on a wet track, with a few drops of rain already visible before the start. The first Moto2 race therefore begins, with Fairy who immediately takes the lead, followed by the pole sitter Tulovic, Aldeguer, Norrodin and Lopez. From the start, it was the five protagonists who fought for the podium, until the duo of the Italian team managed to escape... Still on the Italian side, Rato was in 13th position, Zetti fell after a bad start and is forced to move up, while Menozzi (in Superstock 600) closes the ranking. After only three laps, a black flag appeared for Marc Luna: the tires he had fitted were not of the authorized model, so his race ended. This is not the start to the season that he and his team had dreamed of…

After a few laps, as expected, the Boscoscuro, formerly Speed Up, a team just returned from a triumphant year with Yari Montella. Of course, the goal is nothing less than trying to repeat that success, and Aldeguer and López are definitely off to a good start. The race of Tulovic ends prematurely with a fall 5 laps from the finish, and the list of retirements also includes Moreno, Maria (STK600), and Zetti. Menozzi, meanwhile, made a long pit stop then restarted, ending up in the gravel and finishing very far behind. In the lead, it's a fight between the Boscoscuros, Fermín Aldeguer finally gaining the upper hand over his teammate Alonso lopez. It's a big debut for both, monopolizing the top two steps of the podium. Excellent start for Adam Norrodin, who is finally 3rd.

French side, Andy Verdoïa finished 10th at 26 seconds.

Ranking :

Race 2: Another double from Boscoscuro in Estoril, Aldeguer once again gaining the upper hand over López. What a weekend for the rookie of the Italian team, while 3rd is Tulovic.

It's still a battle between the Boscoscuro duo in Race 2 of the CEV Moto2 at Estoril. Fermín Aldeguer nevertheless manages to gain the upper hand Alonso Lopez, and it takes the final straight to decide between the two contenders at the start of the season. But the duo of the Italian team still monopolizes the first two places on the podium, the third going to the poleman Lukas Tulovic, who is recovering from his fall in the first race on Sunday. But what a great start for the Boscoscuro Talent Team Ciatti, which is already sending a strong signal to its rivals in the championship. Not bad is the Italian's race Mattia Rato, which takes a good 7th place.

The Race
zetti is not at the start after his fall in race 1, while the excellent start already made by Fairy in the morning repeats itself. The Japanese is back in the lead, followed by Aldeguer et TulovicMore López seems more in difficulty and falls out of the top ten. However, the reigning STK600 champion quickly took the lead ahead of the pole sitter and the Team AGR rider, while behind him, the former Moto3 rider (thanks to a few fast laps), Norrodin et Biesiekirski came back. Unfortunately the Polish driver's good race ended prematurely due to a fall... Note the presence of Rato in the top 10, only Italian in the points zone.

Lap after lap the situation at the front stabilizes with the two drivers Boscoscuro and Tulovic now escaped with a growing advantage over the pursuers. If there is no unforeseen event (see the German's fall in race 1), the battle will still be between them to establish podium positions. The Intact SIC Racing driver, however, cannot keep up with the pace of the two rookies until the end... The boys from the French team manage to escape again, and it's still Fermín Aldeguer who surprises his teammate Alonso lopez, this time on the right just on the finish line. Third place final for Lukas Tulovic, who obtains the place which escaped him in the morning race.

French side, Andy Verdoïa finished 12th at 23 seconds.

Fermín Aldeguer :“I am very happy with the work of the whole team. After the test days we weren't sure how we were going to perform in these races, but even so, from Thursday, from the start, I was able to get into a good rhythm. I felt very good with the bike and we saw that it was possible to win. We led many sessions, we had a very good pace and we go home with a good taste in our mouth for having achieved these two victories. “

Alonso lopez :“I'm very happy because I feel like I'm improving little by little. The second race, with the exception of the start, was a little better than the first. The mistakes I made in the first race could have been very well resolved in the second race, and thanks to that I was able to come back and reach the first positions. I think if I had ridden like I did in the first race I wouldn't have caught them, so I'm very happy because I can see that I'm improving. In the end, it's a shame that I got second place, I had a very good second race, I recovered four or five seconds, but that's the race. I'm happy for Fermín, I think we're going to have a fun year together and we're going to put on a good show. Thanks to the whole team for the excellent work this weekend, to my sponsors and my family. “

Boscoscuro Talent Team Ciatti leads the Moto2 European Championship. Fermín Aldeguer is first with 50 points and Alonso lopez second with 40. The next race will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on the weekend of May 9.
