During the final of the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship in Valencia, there was little suspense since Jesko Raffin had already won the title for the 2nd time and, during the race, Edgar Pons (AGR Team, Kalex) did not. left his opponents little chance by winning ahead of Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS, Tech3) who was still injured since his fall during the Valencia Grand Prix the previous week (see here).
The battle for 3rd place was however tough between Tommaso Marcon (Team Ciatti, Speed Up) and Marc Alcoba (Dynavolt Intact JT, Kalex), so much so that the elbow maneuvers of the 2 drivers in the final straight were considered unacceptable and those concerned were downgraded.
So, Jesko Raffin (EasyRace M2, Suter), who was not in Valencia on Friday since he was in Jerez for his first contact with MotoE with which he will participate in 2019, and who crossed the finish line in 5th position, inherits the 3rd step of the podium even though he had only two days to get used to the Suter.
For the same reasons, the French Cedric Tangre (Cedric Tangre, Tech3) finally ranks 9th.
