Aleix Viu (Honda, Marinelli Sniper Team) took his first victory in the Junior Moto3™ World Championship after an interesting race.

The Spanish driver stood on the top step of the podium at the Le Mans circuit for the first time during the round which coincided with the HJC Helmets Grand Prix de France.

Raul Fernandez (KTM, Ángel Nieto Team) and Ai Ogura (Honda, Asia Talent Team) shared the podium with the race winner.

After the two qualifying sessions on Friday, during which Alex Viu took pole position ahead of 12 drivers separated by less than a second, it was to be expected that the race would be as close as usual.

When the red lights go out, the leader in the category Raul Fernandez (Ángel Nieto Team) found itself at the head of the group, while Celestino Vietti Ramus (KTM, Sky Junior Team VR46 Rider) and Barry Baltus (KTM, Reale Avintia Academy) fell in the Dunlop chicane.

The attempt to Raul Fernandez to escape from the group was quickly neutralized, allowing a group of 8 pilots to compete for victory. Mid Road, Alex Viu took the lead and then picked up the pace, increasing his advantage lap by lap and leaving behind the fight for the two remaining places on the podium.

The last round was very competitive, with Raúl Fernández exceeding Manuel Pagliani (Honda, Leopard Junior) into the chicane and blocking all overtaking attempts to finally hold on to second position.

Manuel Pagliani received a three-second penalty after crossing the finish line for repeatedly exceeding track limits, ultimately costing him third place in favor ofAi Ogura.

With these results, Raul Fernandez consolidates its position in the general classification of the Junior World Championship Moto3™ with 78 points, followed by Manuel Pagliani with 58 points and Alex Viu with 49 points.

The next round of the FIM CEV Repsol will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Cataluña on June 9 and 10 with the participation of all categories.
