Daniel Holgado begins the 3 Moto2021 Junior World Championship by winning the first race of the year. Second place is occupied by David Salvador on the Italian TM, third place for rookie David Alonso.

The season of Daniel Holgado (Aspar junior Team) starts in the best way. The young Team Aspar rider achieved his first victory of the season, triumphing on the Estoril circuit on the GasGas motorcycle, thus recording his first historic speed success. Great satisfaction for TM thanks to david savior (TM Racing Factory Team), still fighting in the leading group and second at the checkered flag. Not bad also for the third step of the podium: we are talking about the promising Colombian David Alonso (Aspar junior Team), reigning ETC champion who makes his debut in the Moto3 Junior world championship this year with Jorge Martínez's team. First race of the season rather complicated for the Italian drivers: the best is Nicholas Carraro, 24th ahead of the rookie Luca Lunetta.

Qualifications:

The race (17 laps):
Immediately trouble: the motorcycle of Sho Nishimura (MT-Foundation 77) broke down on the grid before the reconnaissance lap, his race was immediately complicated. Daniel Holgado starts very well at the start, followed by david savior et Takuma Matsuyama (Asia Talent Team), while the pole sitter Ivan Ortola (Team MTA) loses a few positions. Problems also in this start, Volpi is stopped and is pushed towards the pit lane: in the end he succeeds from the pit lane, but with a huge gap... In the lead Daniel Holgado (GasGas) and david savior (TM) immediately try to take the lead, while Raffaele Fusco (TM Racing Factory Team) retires after a fall. It was followed by the definitive elimination of Sho Nishimura, who started far behind but fell after a few laps, Clement Rougé (Laglisse Academy) and Joel Kelso (AGR Team) also dropped out shortly after.

There are two of them in the race for victory, but there are four for the last step of the podium, namely Takuma Matsuyama (Asia Talent Team), Jose Garcia (SIC58 Squadra Corsica), David Muñoz (Avatel – Cardoso Racing) and Ivan Ortola (Team MTA). In the final laps, however, five drivers battled for the lead, with David Alonso (Aspar junior Team) and Mario Aji (Astra Honda Racing team) who return, followed by Diogo Moreira (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) and the poleman a little further away. Filippo Farioli (Laglisse Academy) on the other hand received a long lap penalty for too many track exits, confirming the difficult start of our carriers... In the lead, the fight was close, until Daniel Holgado can accumulate the tenths necessary to ensure the first victory of 2021. Superb second place for david savior on TM, the third is the rookie David Alonso.
