Like the Moto2 category entirely dominated by Yari Montella, the young shoots of the European Talent Cup suffered the yoke of David Alonso during the two races which took place in Estoril last week.

The Aspar driver having also flown through the morning qualifying session, the fastest, he is positioned at the head of the grid during this unique race on the Portimão circuit, ahead of the Dutchman Zonta van der Goorbergh (Team SuperB) and the Spanish Alberto Ferrandez (Cuna de campeones).

When the red lights go out, David Alonso (OpenBank Aspar Team) leaves no one to direct operations and begins to set a fast pace which immediately lengthens the peloton. Behind him is Marco Morelli Chinco (Estrella Galicia 0,0 TT) who enjoyed an excellent start from ninth place and even managed to lead for a few turns, leading the chasing group.

Unfortunately, after one lap, the red flag was waved due to a violent fall suffered by Oscar Almonacil Carrero (H43 Team Nobby Talasur-Blu) who remains lying on a stretcher at the edge of the track for many minutes.

At the start of the second part of the race reduced to 10 laps, the initial scenario repeats itself and it is still the unavoidable David Alonso (OpenBank Aspar Team) which sets its pace in front of a Marco Morelli Chinco (Estrella Galicia 0,0 TT) definitely very efficient for starting off. The latter takes with him Alberto Ferrandez (Cuna de campeones) and Ivan Ortola (OpenBank Aspar Team) is chasing the Colombian, but nothing works and the leader inexorably manages to take a few steps ahead.

As the rounds go by, Marco Tapia (Leopard Impala Junior Team) manages to lead the chasing group before making a mistake, and it is thus a pack of 8 furious who present themselves at the start of the last for the last two steps of the podium.

In the end, behind the inaccessible David Alonso who wins his third success in three races, Alberto Ferrandez (Cuna de campeones) manages to reach second position for 18 thousandths ahead Marco Morelli Chinco (Estrella Galicia 0,0 TT).

A little further down the ranking, and in the absence of Guillem Planques (Larresport Carré d'or) suffering from a radius injury, our French drivers finished quite grouped together at the points gate, Matéo Pédeneau (MHP-Tech Solutions) finishing 22nd at 27 seconds and only 3 tenths ahead Bartholomé Perrin (French GP Team), 24th.
Just behind in the rankings, Amaury Mizera (MHP-Tech Solutions) is 25th out of 38.
