The first of two days of racing saw two of three titles won and a huge turnaround in the remaining championship fortunes, as the final action of 2020 looms on the horizon for Sunday…

The penultimate racing day of the 2020 FIM CEV Repsol season saw breathtaking action and phenomenal twists and turns as battles for the three titles drove the show at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia. You can relive that day below:

En Moto2 European Championship™, Yari Montella (Speed Up, Team Ciatti Speed Up) took the crown with a solid second place, while in European Talent Cup, he is the Colombian leader David Alonso (Openbank Aspar Team) who won the title in an anthology final event, starting from 15th place on the starting grid after a penalty imposed on Friday.

The only championship that has not been awarded is the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship™, while the winner of the race, Izan Guevara (KTM, Openbank Aspar Team), moved up from the third row on the starting grid to establish himself as the new leader of the category.

The FIM Moto3™ Junior World Championship provided a captivating spectacle, although big crashes David Salvador (KTM, Cuna De Campeones) and Gerard Riu (KTM, AGR Team) at the exit of turn 14 brought out the red flag. A new 12-lap start saw the pole sitter Peter Acosta (KTM, MT-Foundation 77) take the lead while his Spanish compatriot Daniel Holgado (KTM, Openbank Aspar Team) overtook the Japanese Takuma Matsuyama (Honda, Asia Talent Team). However, the man of the day was fine Izan Guevara and while Jose Julian Garcia (Honda, SIC 58 Squadra Corse) received a Long Lap penalty, and Matsuyama fell, the three Spaniards fought to the end. Passing Holgado at turn 8 and Acosta at turn 14 on the final lap, Izan Guevara won a fifth consecutive victory and took the lead in the championship for the first time. Xavier Artigas (Honda, Leopard Impala Junior Team) did not score any points after a problem on the starting grid before the lights went out for the restart, and consequently fell to second place in the general classification.

Started 15th, Lorenzo Fellon (Honda, Estrella Galicia 0,0) crossed the finish line 13th before receiving a 3-second penalty, which puts him back in the same position, while Clement Rougé (Husqvarna, Laglisse Academy), who started 27th, gained 7 places during the race. Gabin Planques (Husqvarna, Larresport Carré d'or), 30th in qualifying, did not start the race, following a fall in warm up.

Yari Montella (Team Ciatti Speed Up) quickly took the lead over Nikki Tuuli (Kalex, Team Stylobike) and Alessandro Zaccone (Kalex, PromoRacing), who made a breakthrough from the start. Montella quickly came under pressure from his compatriot Zaccone and, in the final moments, the latter took the lead by breaking away from Montella's Speed Up. The two Italians finished in this order in front of the “beginner” Dominique Aegerter (Kalex, Liqui Moly Intact SIC Junior Team), which allowed Montella to win the title.
