As 3 a.m. approached, the Honda CBR 1000RR-R #1 FCC TSR Honda France, which was in 3rd position but could still compete for the world endurance title, experienced problems with Mike Di Meglio on his handlebars.

We first saw the French driver take a breakaway then turn around several times before seeing his machine stop at the start of the pit lane. Thanks to the solidarity of a few mechanics, the world champion was quickly able to push his machine to his box where the CBR began to be dismantled: tank, battery, air filter... it was clearly difficult to identify the problem mechanical (which we suspect to be very serious) and the minutes ticked away, causing the reigning champion to be demoted to 7th place at the time we publish these lines.

The title is slipping away for the Marne la Vallée team…

In the lead, the Suzuki has a one minute lead over the Yamaha which is starting to dream of a new world title. Without doubt the turning point of the FIM EWC season…

Mid-race ranking:

Update: The Honda threw in the towel after half an hour in the box, apparently with a blocked crankshaft.
