This Bol d'Or is definitely tough for the teams entered in the EWC category, and Yamaha is no exception. After the retirement of the #1 Wojcik EWC Team YZF-R77, the #4 ERC Endurance Ducati Panigale V6R and the Honda CBR 1000RR-R #1 FCC TSR Honda France, it is now Yamaha #7 YART-Yamaha which is experiencing repeated problems!
Since this morning, we have been witnessing a veritable recital of the Suzuki #12 Yoshimura SERT Motul. But beyond that, the Yamaha #7, second until then, managed to hold on, until a major problem marred the progress. On three occasions already, the red and white YZF-R1 of the Austrian team had to stop in the box, in order to cool down the engine! The in-line four-cylinder is too hot, but it seems that the mechanics cannot find an immediate solution to remedy this problem which threatens the integrity of the machine.
🤯It's another stay in the box for the #7… The water's temperature in the engine is too hot. #FIMEWC #Gold bowl pic.twitter.com/ldIzzD0317

Less than five minutes ago, she made another pass through the pits and as a result, lost second place to the Honda #333 Honda Viltaïs Racing ! Eight laps behind the leading Suz, the vast majority of hopes of victory are gone. But nothing is done, and as a reminder, Greg Black (Suzuki #12) already fell last night, without seriousness! This Bol d'Or takes a difficult turn for Yamaha.
