La FIM Awards ceremony could not take place last year due to the health crisis and the 2021 edition therefore celebrated both the 2020 and 2021 champions at Sporting Monte-Carlo in the presence of HSH Albert II, Prince of Monaco.

Regarding the Grands Prix, this allowed us not only to see fabio quartararo in MotoGP but also Joan mir for his 2020 title, Remy Gardner which has Enea Bastianini for Moto2, as well as Peter Acosta which has Albert Arenas in Moto3.

Likewise in WorldSBK Superbike where Toprak Razgatlıoğlu succeeded to Jonathan Rhea, or in FIM Moto3™ Junior where Daniel Holgado took over fromIzan Guevara. Etc.

But this ceremony, as prestigious as it was, closed several days of work for the FIM, in particular its general assembly and its Board of Directors. Pandemic, sport, finances, codes and regulations, marketing and communication are just a few examples of the topics that have been worked on or validated.
It was therefore decided to choose the city of Rimini (Italy) for the organization of the general assembly and the 2022 FIM Awards and to offer the possibility of hosting the 2023 FIM end-of-year events at the Nordic town of Lathi (Finland).

The project to transform the current FIM headquarters into a motorcycling sports museum and Hall of Fame, and to construct a new administrative building with space dedicated to the technical laboratory (FIM Tech Lab) was strongly supported and approved by the general Assembly.

The Council also awarded the Nicolas Rodil del Valle gold medal to Mr. Fujio Yoshimura, president of Yoshimura Japan, in recognition of his active role in the practice, promotion and development of motorcycling.
