A debate is currently agitating Formula 1 which still thinks it is at the top of motor sports. However, and even within it, voices have pointed out that, for several years, the MotoGP cuts croupiers for him. The intensity of its spectacle, its general model and its growing popularity show that the four-wheeled single-seater with a steering wheel is no longer as attractive. And yet, some in this category act as if they were the only people in the world who drive on circuits. Consideration is thus underway in Formula 1, on a new layout of the sides of the track. Which would cause a lot of problems in motorcycle racing...

The debate is open in Formula 1 on how to manage excursions outside the limits of the track. This season, several drivers have been penalized for widening their lines a little too much. The same people who rail against the fact that the large asphalt clearance zones encourage people to attempt such maneuvers.

To solve the problem, we must avoid temptation. And therefore return to the grass or gravel at the edge of the track. The automobile federation, through its race director, Charlie Whiting, however, recalled that modern circuits were no longer designed this way, since most of them must also accommodate motorcycle races.

A position which is not only that of officials. Fortunately, there are also pilots who are less narrow-minded than others. And not the least since this is the case of Fernando Alonso : " I think we also have to consider that Formula 1 is not the only series that races on these permanent circuits: there is also MotoGP, and they need completely different security measures »said the Spanish Champion. Thanks to him.
