This Sunday, September 15, the Albi Moto Club and the French Motorcycling Federation hosted the final of the French Superbike Championship. On the Albi circuit, the speed experts put on a show in front of more than 10 spectators.
SUPERBIKES
RACE 1: GINES AGAIN VICTORIEUX ET BONNOT CHAMPION CHALLENGER
At the start of the race, the 2019 neo Champion Mathieu GINES (BMW Tecmas), determined to finish in style, signs a new pole position, ahead of Louis BULLE (Yamaha), 2rd et Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha)3rd.
GINES and BULLE each take off well, while BERCHET concedes several places from the start in favor of Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki) starting 4rd, the Albigensian driver took advantage of this and positioned himself behind the two leaders.
After 2 laps, the three men began to widen a slight gap while successively, Louis BULLE, Hugo CLERE (Yamaha) and Matthew LUSSIANA (Yamaha) return to the pits due to mechanical problems.
GINES sets a very fast pace at the head of the race, DEBISE works hard to stay under second. Behind their backs, David MUSCAT (Ducati) and Axel MAURIN (Yamaha) take over Morgan BERCHET. Who, the No. 3 Ducati or the No. 89 Yamaha, will be able to gain the upper hand to get on the podium?
5 laps from the finish, GINES drives the point home by distancing DEBISE. For their part, MAURIN and MUSCAT are still fighting and BERCHET remains isolated in 5rd position. It is in the middle of the pack that the battle rages between the Challenger drivers. Indeed, all in the same second, Guillaume ANTIGA (Sling), Maxime BONNOT (BMW Tecmas), Enzo BOULOM (Yamaha) and Nicolas ESCUDIER (Yamaha) compete for 6rd instead.
At the arrival, Mathieu GINES wins another victory in front of Valentin DEBISE who thrills his home crowd and Axel MURIN, 3rd. The latter deprives the multiple French champion MUSCAT of the podium. For his part, Morgan BERCHET concludes in 5rdposition.
In Challenger, the battle between young drivers proves ANTIGA right, which takes 6th placerd place in the scratch ahead of BOULOM, and BONNOT, the latter finishes 3rd of the category, synonymous with the title of champion of the 2019 season.
RACE 2: GINES COMPLETES ITS SEASON PERFECTLY
For the last race of 2019, the Champion Mathieu GINES (BMW Tecmas) starts from pole position with Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki) on his right and David MUSCAT (Dozens).
The drivers who make up the front line at the start remain at the forefront in the first towers, Axel MAURIN (Yamaha) joins them to try to get into the leading trio. For his part, after his morning misfortunes, Hugo CLERE (Yamaha) positions itself in 5rd position, and intends to fill the gap that separates him from the leaders.
Before the halfway mark, Mathieu GINES widens the gap on his opponents who, at this moment, are still neck and neck.
It was only 7 laps from the finish that DEBISE, trying to reduce the gap with GINES, distanced MUSCAT which itself broke away from MAURIN. For his part, CLERE is still the only driver in the running for 5rd place while Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha) and Guillaume ANTIGA (Honda), fight for 6rd.
At the arrival, Mathieu GINES concludes a victorious season with a double success on the Albi circuit. Valentin DEBISE is the author of a great home race which allows him to climb on the 2rd podium step completed by the experienced David MUSCAT who is still having a good season.
Not fast enough to hope for better in this race, Axel MAURIN settle for 4rd position but wins 2ndrd place in the general classification. As for Hugo CLERE, the rider of the Yamaha n°11 takes a nice 5rd place thanks to a solid and regular performance. For his part, BERCHET maintains the advantage over ANTIGA until the finish line.
In Challenger, it is therefore Guillaume ANTIGA who wins in front of the champion of the category Maxime BONNOT (BMW Tecmas) and Nicolas ESCUDIER (Yamaha).
FINAL SITUATION :
Consecration for Mathieu GINES who won the title in the premier category with 307 points. Axel MAURIN get on 2rd podium place with a total of 216 points. Despite missing two stages, the MotoE rider Kenny FORAY completes the 2019 Superbike ranking with 184 points.
In Challenger, another driver from the BMW Tecmas team wins, it is Maxime BONNOT with 267 points. Despite a contrasting second part of the season, Clement STOLL retains its 2rd place with 203 points ahead Enzo BOULOM (190 points).
This classification will be definitively validated by the technical inspection in accordance with the regulations in force.
SUPERSPORT 600
RACE 1: MAXIMILIEN BAU TITLE ! AND PRESTIGE VICTORY FOR RENAUDIN
Starting from pole position, Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha) keeps control of the race in front Guillaume POT (Yamaha) in its wheel. The two men quickly make up the gap with the rest of the peloton. Behind, a group of 4 pilots forms, composed of Matthew GREGORIO (yamaha), Guillaume RAYMOND (yamaha), Ludovic CAUCHI (Yamaha) and Maximilian BAU (Yamaha).
After 3 laps, the leading duo widens the gap. Despite his injury which weakens him physically, POT does not give RENAUDIN the opportunity to outrun him. In the chasing group, RAYMOND makes the break with BAU and GREGORIO while CAUCHI fails to set the pace.
The public then observes the rise of RAYMOND who comes back 3 seconds behind RENAUDIN and POT, still inseparable. 2 laps from the finish, POT can no longer resist, the driver of the Yamaha n°69 is left behind by RENAUDIN and sees RAYMOND returning to his wheel.
Finally, Martin RENAUDIN concludes with a lead of 1''822 over RAYMOND who therefore gains the upper hand over POT in the last lap. At the foot of the podium, Maximilian BAU can let his joy explode, the young rider of the Yamaha n°108 is crowned Supersport 600 Champion!
For its part, Matthew GREGORIO finish 5rd at the finish, ahead of Rénald CASTILLON GIOANNI (Yamaha) and Ludovic CAUCHI.
On the Challenger podium, the paddock finds the winner of the day, RENAUDIN, ahead of BAU who also wins the Supersport 600 Challenger title and GREGORIO on 3rd market.
RACE 2: WITH OR WITHOUT CHALLENGES, BAU IS UNPERTURBABLE
The verdict recently arrived, the Supersport 600 drivers take their place on the starting grid with less pressure. Guillaume RAYMOND (Yamaha) takes the reins of the race from 1er round. Quickly, two pilots joined him to form a leading trio: Guillaume POT (Yamaha) and Maximilian BAU (Yamaha).
After 5 rounds, Guillaume POT is left behind by the first two in the general classification. It is then that RAYMOND and BAU meet for the last clash of the season. Behind them, the winner of race 1, Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha), is isolated in 4rd position ahead of Rénald CASTILLON GIOANNI (Yamaha) and Matthew GREGORIO (Yamaha).
6 laps from the finish, the Champion is still in the wheel of his runner-up while RENAUDIN comes back to POT before overtaking him. Two laps from the finish, BAU took over RAYMOND and established himself as boss, the hierarchy was thus respected. RENAUDIN concludes the season with a second podium in Albi ahead of POT who was valiant throughout the weekend despite his injury. For his part, CASTILLON GIOANNI emerges victorious from the duel between him and GREGORIO and ranks 5rd.
In Challenger, it is BAU who wins ahead of RENAUDIN and GREGORIO.
FINAL SITUATION :
The young Maximilian BAU wins the Supersport 600 with no less than 10 victories and 317 points. Victim of the performance of the Champion, the excellent Guillaume RAYMOND get on 2rd podium place with 276 points. The 228 units of Guillaume POT allow him to complete the podium.
In Challenger, Maximilian BAU naturally occupies the highest step of the podium with 342 points. Martin RENAUDIN is placed to his right with 298 points and Matthew GREGORIO also gets on the box with 221 points.
This classification will be definitively validated by the technical inspection in accordance with the regulations in force.
SUPERSPORT 300
RACE 1: GIRARDET ALREADY CHAMPION, REMAINS THIRSTY FOR VICTORY
After a timed practice session dominated from start to finish, Hugo GIRARDET (Kawasaki) doesn't need to be asked and escapes in the 1er turn. Alexis BOUDIN (Kawasaki) also sets the pace to try to keep the leader within reach. Local, Célian RIQUELME (Kawasaki) as well asEnzo CEOLOTTO (Yamaha) and Thomas FURLAN (Kawasaki) claim the podium, the three boys observe each other at the start of the race.
Halfway through the exercise, BOUDIN is already relegated to more than 6 seconds behind the leader who is heading towards another victory. Behind, RIQUELME, FURLAN and CEOLOTTO are on par and no driver is able to make the difference for the moment.
Finally, GIRARDET won as Champion, far ahead of BOUDIN, 2rd. In the fight for 3rd place, FURLAN gets the best of his opponents in the last lap, CEOLOTTO finishes 4rd and RIQUELME will have to wait for race 2 to perhaps get on the podium at home.
RACE 2: PUDDING FOR A FIRST
For the last race of the season, Alexis BOUDIN decided to score his first victory. Driver no. 6 made a perfect start and took the lead of the race from the first corner. But in the 2nd round, a collective fall involving the Champion Hugo GIRARDET (Kawasaki) brings the red flag synonymous with a new start.
After several minutes of stopping, BOUDIN takes over the reins in front of the locals Thomas FURLAN (Kawasaki) and Célian RIQUELME (Kawasaki) who set out in pursuit of the young pilot, as well as Celian RIQUELME (Kawasaki) and Enzo CEOLOTTO (Yamaha).
Lap after lap, BOUDIN widens the gap on his pursuers who remain neck and neck. At the finish, BOUDIN took advantage of the final to win alone for the first time this season. For its part, RIQUELME got the better of its direct opponents and this time climbed onto the 2nd step of the podium which FURLAN completed, at home. BEAUMONT and CEOLOTTO rank 4th and 5th respectively.
FINAL SITUATION :
GIRARDET is Champion of France with 12 victories and 346 points. On the 2rd step of the podium, Tom BERCOT accumulates as many points asAlexis BOUDIN, 224 points, however the number of 2rd place in the race gives the advantage to BERCOT.
This classification will be definitively validated by the technical inspection in accordance with the regulations in force.
GRAND PRIX OBJECTIVE – PRE MOTO3
RACE 1: FALCONE STILL FULLY
For one of the rare times of the season, Vincent FALCONE (BEON Yamaha) does not start from pole position, the paddock finds Bartholomé PERRIN (BEON Yamaha) in this place at the start. Despite this, the 2019 champion got off to a fast start and quickly took the lead from 1er corner, the poleman gets into his wheel.
As the laps go by, motorcycles n°21 and n°39 widen the gap on Charles AUBRIE (Over Yamaha), unable to set the pace of the leaders. At the back of the race, Antoine BONNARD (MORIWAKI MD) is fighting with Line VIEILLARD (250SNF/Yamaha) for the 4rd instead.
At the end of a fierce fight, FALCONE got the better of PERRIN in the last lap and further established its superiority this season! As for Charles AUBRIE, the pilot manages his race like a time trial and wins 3rd place. For their part, BONNARD and VIEILLARD also split in the last loop, the young woman getting the better of the driver of bike no. 43.
RACE 2: PERRIN TAKES HIS REVENGE
As in race 1, Vincent FALCONE (BEON Yamaha) and Bartholomé PERRIN (BEON Yamaha) escape at the front of the race in the first laps. Antoine BONNARD (MORIWAKI MD) and Line VIEILARD (250SNF/Yamaha) set themselves in ambush, Charles AUBRIE (Over Yamaha), meanwhile, tries to hook them.
After 4 laps, the leading drivers are still fighting, while AUBRIE is forced to retire. Halfway through the race, it was VIEILLARD's turn to give up, the final ranking seemed to be taking shape. At the end of yet another attack, PERRIN won over the Champion with only 0”043 ahead! Despite this, FALCONE still earns points with this 2rd place. To end the season in style, BONNARD takes the 3rd step of the podium.
FINAL SITUATION :
It is with a good lead and 297 points that Vincent FALCONE wins the Objective Grand-Prix – Pre Moto 3 category ahead Bartholomé PERRIN which counts 215 points. The only representative of the fairer sex, Line VIEILLARD get on 3rd podium place with 170 units.
This classification will be definitively validated by the technical inspection in accordance with the regulations in force.
SIDE-CAR
RACE 2: DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU ALREADY CHAMPION CONCLUDES AN ALMOST PERFECT SEASON
As in race 1, BARBIER / RIGONDEAU got an excellent start and took the lead after the first chicane. DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU lays in ambush and LEGLISE / CLEMENT positions itself 3rd.
On the 3rd lap, the champion took the advantage over side no. 72 and regained control of the race. In the laps that followed, LEGLISE / CLEMENT also overtook BARBIER / RIGONDEAU before the latter lost pace and fell behind. In the meantime, VINET / VINET is fighting with the BENIGNO / BOUCHARD side for the foot of the podium.
At the finish, the multiple French Champion grants himself the last victory of the season, DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU will definitely have left only second place places to his opponents throughout the season. LEGLISE / CLEMENT took a nice 2nd place for the last race of the season, while BARBIER / RIGONDEAU finished 3rd. In the duel for 4th place, VINET / VINET emerged victorious against BENIGNO / BOUCHARD.
In the F2 category, CHANAL / LAVOREL achieves the double thanks to an 8th place overall ahead of LEGUEN / LEGUEN. To complete the podium, LANCELLE / SZENDROI ranks 11th in the race.
FINAL SITUATION :
DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU is French Champion for the 14rd times with a total of 368 points. On the 2rd On the podium, the family duo VINET / VINET accumulates 236 points ahead of BARBIER / RIGONDEAU (172 points).
In F2, CHANAL / LAVOREL takes the title with 340 points, ahead of LEGUEN / LEGUEN (290 points) and LANCELLE / SZENDROI (181 points).
This classification will be definitively validated by the technical inspection in accordance with the regulations in force.
The French Motorcycling Federation thanks the volunteers, organizers, partners, pilots and spectators for this completed season by meeting again, after the winter, for a 2020 exercise which promises to be just as exciting.
