On June 19 and 20, less than a week after the 24 Heures Motos, the best French riders will meet on the Pau Arnos Circuit for the 4rd round of the French Superbike Championship, synonymous with mid-season. Like every year, the FFM trusts MC Pau Arnos to welcome the French speed elite.

SUPERBIKE 1000: CAN DEBISE STILL BE WORRIED?

At Le Mans, at Nogaro then at Lédenon, the leader of the Championship, Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki Twist Ring Racing – Dunlop) won all the races at the start of the 2021 season. Like Fabio QUARTARARO in MotoGP, the rider of the Kawasaki n°153 likes to make the difference at the start of the race and then cross the finish line several seconds ahead of his opponents. Will he be able to continue his perfect run at Pau Arnos?

Double reigning Champion without solution against the Albigensian, Mathieu GINES (Yamaha Tech Solutions – Michelin) has had a good start to the season where, despite the consistency, victories are lacking. The rider of the Yamaha Tech Solution team will therefore be keen to shine by winning, during a stage which looks like a last chance to retain his title.

For 3rd Championship place, the fight promises to be exciting. Many talented drivers will appear on the Pau Arnos circuit to compete for the podium. The ambitious Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha – Dunlop), Alan TECHER (BMW Tecmas – Michelin) and Axel MAURIN (Yamaha – Michelin), all authors of a promising start to the season, will want to get on the box again.

Despite mixed results for both, the experienced Grégory LEBLANC (Ducati TWR – Michelin) and Kenny FORAY (BMW Tecmas – Michelin) will have the desire to do better during this 4rd round of the season. Will they be able to rise to the level of GINES or DEBISE?

Temporarily 9rd scratch, the young Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha Moto&GPAddict – Pirelli) is seducing fans this season. The rider of the No. 75 Yamaha, leader of the Challenger category, can aim for a new top 5 in the race at Pau Arnos. In the young driver category, Guillaume ANTIGA (Honda – Michelin) is also one of the strong men, capable of battling among the fastest. Always present in the fight, Alan AGOGUE (Yamaha – Michelin) and Valentin SUCHET (Suzuki – Bridgestone) will also be keen to do well to aim for the Challenger podium.

SUPERSPORT 600: THE YOUNG GUARD FACING DEBISE

As in Superbike, Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki – Michelin) has dominated his subject since the start of the season in Supersport 600. The rider of the Kawasaki n°153 impresses, all the more so given the talent of Adrien Morillas' protégé, Ludovic CAUCHI (Yamaha – Pirelli) forces him to struggle to win. On the circuit where he scored his first podium in the category last year, CAUCHI will once again be able to try to thwart the Albigensian.

Only 18 points behind the rider of the Yamaha no. 74, Tom BERCOT (Yamaha – Pirelli) has his cards to play. If he manages to raise his level a little further, the young driver could even join the fight for victory.

Another promising rider in the category, Matthieu GREGORIO (Yamaha – Michelin) is gaining momentum and should be able to get closer to the leading men. More experienced, Kevin LONGEARET (Yamaha – Michelin) and Cédric TANGRE (Triumph – Michelin) will be revengers, both of whom were forced to retire during the last round.

Like Ludovic CAUCHI, Tom BERCOT or Matthieu GREGORIO, in Supersport 600 Challenger Kilian AEBI (Suzuki – Pirelli) and Vincent FALCONE are accumulating experience and will also start at Pau Arnos.

GRAND PRIX OBJECTIVE – PRE-MOTO 3: MIZERA ALREADY CLOSE TO THE TITLE

In Pre-Moto 3, Amaury MIZERA (Beon Yamaha) has been uncompromising since the start of the season. The 14-year-old driver has six consecutive victories to his credit and does not intend to stop there. With a 71-point lead, who can worry MIZERA?

One thing is certain, Mattéo ROMAN (KTM RC4R), Rémy SANJUAN (KTM RC4R) and Mathis FARGIER (KTM RC4R) will go to Pau Arnos to aim for the podium and consolidate their status within the top 3.

SUPERSPORT 300: FOUR-WAY MATCH AT THE FRONT POST

Before mid-season, the suspense is high in Supersport 300, where the first four drivers in the standings are separated by 28 points. Alexy NEGRIER (Yamaha – Pirelli) temporarily occupies the leading position thanks to his excellent results. Only 10 lengths behind the rider of the Yamaha n°126, Diego PONCET (Kawasaki – Pirelli) comes out of a stage where he ranked 5rd and 6rd. Capable of doing better, PONCET will undoubtedly be a contender for victory on June 20.

Respectively, holders of 84 and 80 points, Adrien QUINET (Kawasaki – Pirelli) and Florent DA CUNHA (Kawasaki – Pirelli) are probably part of the title race. After showing that they were capable of fighting for victory and obtaining podiums, QUINET and DA CUHNA will have to confirm to make NEGRIER and PONCET doubt. This four-way battle promises to be exciting on the Pau Arnos Circuit.

Absent from the first two stages then doubly victorious at Lédenon, Alexis BOUDIN (Yamaha – Michelin) should make the task even more difficult for the leading men… Can he enter the title race despite the missed meetings?

In Challenger, the paddock will find former Promosport French Cup drivers Enzo DAHMANI (Kawasaki – Dunlop), Fergus CHRETIENNOT (KTM – Pirelli) and Ludovic AMOURET (Kawasaki – Pirelli) promising a fierce fight at the heart of the peloton.

SIDE-CAR: THE LEAD IN THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP

A week after the World Cup which took place on the Bugatti Circuit, the sides returned to Pau Arnos for the French Championship.

Having gone from outsider status to favorite in the competition, PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT confirms the expectations placed on it and its F600. Building on its two victories at Lédenon, the side n°74 will travel to the Pyrénées Atlantiques with the desire to give itself some fresh air before the second part of the season. Accustomed to the track and the Championship, LEGLISE / LAVOREL and GUIGNARD / POUX will be strong competitors for the leader.

For its part, LEBAIL / LEVEAU, behind before obtaining its best results during the last round, will be keen to continue its progress.

In the F2 category, the paddock will find LEBLOND / DOUANE CHAZELLE and LEGUEN / CESCUTTI, provisionally installed on the provisional podium. They will notably face CROCHEMORE / PICQUOIN or the local PALACOEUR / CESCUTTI!
