After the stage at the Carole circuit where the first titles were awarded, the drivers of the French Superbike Championship meet in Occitanie to close the season on the Albi Circuit. On this occasion, the Albi Moto Club and the French Motorcycling Federation welcome the best French speed riders on September 14 and 15. Some categories have not yet given their verdict, will the favorites resist the pressure to win?
SUPERBIKE 1000: FINAL BOUQUET IN TARNAISE TERRE
After his coronation as Champion of France, Mathieu GINES (BMW Tecmas) goes to Albi with full confidence. Last year, GINES had a great performance during its Wildcard on the Tarn circuit, placing 2nd twice, can he do better at the end of the 2019 season? The absence of his teammate, Kenny FORAY (BMW Tecmas), winner in the two races in 2, will highlight the strengths of other challengers…
With only one victory this year, Axel MAURIN (Yamaha) ranks 2nd, tied on points with Kenny FORAY, absent. The rider of the Yamaha No. 89 will probably be keen to shine in Albi by trying to pocket victory and consolidate 2nd podium position of the season.
On their side, Morgan BERCHET (yamaha), Hugo CLERE (yamaha), David MUSCAT (Ducati) and Matthew LUSSIANA (Yamaha) have demonstrated great ability to evolve at the front during the last two rounds, the paddock is keeping a close eye on the results of the strong men in the category.
Lacking success since his fall at Pau Arnos, Louis BULLE (Yamaha) is back on the circuit where he achieved the double in 600cc last season. Will he get on the podium for the last of the season?
Please note, stage local Valentin DEBISE is responding to the call of the Circuit d'Albi! Riding the #153 Kawasaki, DEBISE returns to service after a sabbatical year following an accident in 2018. A distinguished rider in the United States, he will start in the premier category to remind the paddock of his 2 victories in 2017 in the Supersport category. 600.
In Challenger, Maxime BONNOT (BMW Tecmas) is in control of the standings and only needs 8 points to secure victory in the category. His dolphin, Clement STOLL (Suzuki LMS) has lacked consistency for five races and will have to be wary of the increase in power ofEnzo BOULOM (Yamaha). Only 24 points separate the two drivers. Attention, Johan NIGON (Suzuki LMS) is not far away and could exclude the rider of the Yamaha n°25 from the podium before the end.
SUPERSPORT 600: BAU, FINALLY CHAMPION?
Despite a season where he plays the role of “boss”, Maximilian BAU (Yamaha) is still not guaranteed to be titled. Following his fall in race 1 at Carole, his number of points is not sufficient to arrive in Albi as the Champion. The lead of the rider of the Yamaha n°108 will, however, allow him to be Champion with, at least, a 4nd place in Albi.
His best opponent, Guillaume RAYMOND (Yamaha), is, for his part, author of a season rich in success allowing him to score 235 points with 100% podium since the 2nd sleeve.
Despite her victory over Carole, Guillaume POT (Yamaha) is confronted by the young Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha) for the definitive victory of the 3nd instead.
Concerning Rénald CASTILLON-GIOANNI (Yamaha) and Matthew GREGORIO (Yamaha), the 100 point mark has been passed! However, the top 4 in the general classification is out of reach for the two men, so they will battle to secure 5nd place in the category.
In Challenger, it will take 10 points to Maximilian BAU to be doubly titled in Albi. Without a double fall from the leader, Martin RENAUDIN will remain second. At 3nd place, Matthew GREGORIO must ensure to maintain a distance Charles CORTOT (Yamaha) in great shape.
SUPERSPORT 300: BATTLE FOR 3TH PODIUM MARCH
To Carole, Hugo GIRARDET (Kawasaki) was crowned Champion despite a third place in race 1, thus depriving him of a perfect season. The French Champion will logically be the big favorite in Albi. The public will find one of the challengers of the category in the person of Tom BERCOT (Yamaha), assured of retaining the runner-up position.
Currently 3nd of the general classification, Alexis BOUDIN (Kawasaki) has made good progress since the start of the season. However, the youngest of the peloton did not manage to climb to the top of the podium. Could he create a surprise in the Tarn? A good result would protect the rider of the #6 Kawasaki from a comeback.Enzo CEOLOTTO (Yamaha) which is only 14 points behind…
GRAND PRIX OBJECTIVE – PRE-MOTO 3: PERRIN FACING VIEILLARD FOR 2TH PLACE
In the Moto3 preparation category, the 2019 Champion is named Vincent FALCONE (BEON Yamaha). Riding his 250cc, the rider will try to drive the point home by winning his 8nd and 9nd season wins.
In the fight for 2nd place in the ranking, Bartholomé PERRIN (MIR KTM) will settle its accounts with Line VIEILLARD (Yamaha Les 2R). The young woman was ejected from the 2nd overall place goes to Carole, but she remains on the lookout just 9 points behind the pilot of bike no. 39.
For 4nd honorary scratch place, the duel will oppose Charles AUBRIE (Over Yamaha) José SALVANS (RMU TM 250).
SIDE-CAR: DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU UNSTOPPABLE
The public at the Albi Circuit will have the chance to observe the side Champion of France for the 14nd times. After its new title DELANNOY / ROUSSEAU goes to the southwest to end the season in style. At the 2nd place in the general classification, the paddock finds VINET / VINET. The family side is sure to keep its status, however it is still looking for its first victory of the season.
In the absence of BARBIER / RIGONDEAU, 3nd in the general classification, BENIGNO / BOUCHARD is able to enter the top 3 by scoring the 18 points which separate him from his predecessor.
In the F2 category, CHANAL / LAVOREL is leader with 36 points ahead of LEGUEN / LEGUEN. At first glance, this gap seems too large to see a return of side n°256, but the rise in power of LEGUEN / LEGUEN suggests that he will achieve the feat. For its part, LANCELLE / SZENDROI will try to save its 3nd instead.
