The grand final of the 2023 French Superbike Championship will take place from September 29 to October 1 at the Circuit Paul Ricard. Several titles are still at stake, notably in the premier category where only 9 small points separate Kenny Foray from Mike Di Méglio. Other categories have not yet crowned their Champions and will offer spectacle and twists and turns until the last lap. The MC of Circuit Paul Ricard and the French Motorcycling Federation are pleased to welcome the Championship drivers for this 2023 grand final, as well as the public for whom access will be free throughout the weekend.SUPERBIKES : FORAY – DI MEGLIO: THE FINAL SHOW

This last stage still has many challenges in store for Kenny FORAY (BMW Tecmas – Michelin). Unlike last year, the native of Yvelines arrives as a hunter and not as a hunter. The French Champion has a 9-point lead upon his arrival at the Circuit Paul Ricard and will have to work hard to try to retain his title. Who else than Mike DI MEGLIO (Honda CBO – Michelin), multiple World Champion, to stop him? After leading the Championship since the first race, the Toulouse driver lost the lead at Carole in August, facing an unbeatable FORAY. Back on a Circuit he loves, DI MEGLIO will give everything to regain the advantage over his rival and win the title. The duel between the two men promises to be electric!

Currently 3rd in the Championship and impressive in consistency, Alan TECHER (Honda CBO – Michelin) is however left behind by the two leaders and must still secure his place in the top 3. Indeed, the driver of the #5 Honda remains under threat Corentin PEROLARI (Yamaha Moto Ain – Pirelli). The leader of the Challenger ranking could be formidable on the Circuit Paul Ricard, he who has three podiums this season.

The top 5 is provisionally completed by another big name in the person of Jérémy GUARNONI (BMW MDS – Dunlop) recently on the podium at the Bol d'Or and therefore in full confidence to tackle this last meeting of the season. Mathieu GINES (Yamaha Supported Team 41 Performance – Michelin) will return to competition after missing the last stage following his heavy fall in Pau Arnos. For Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha Supported Team Moto&GP Addict – Pirelli), 7th in the provisional ranking, the objective will be to finish the season in style, he who has, for the moment, not yet managed to do better than 5th place racing in 2023.

As for the Challenger category, the title is already awarded to PEROLARI who will attempt to achieve the grand slam. Constantly progressing, the young Kilian AEBI (Suzuki LMS – Pirelli), second in the category, appears as the favorite for 2nd place in this ranking and could even aim for the top 10 scratch which would be a notable performance. Ludovic CAUCHI (Yamaha – Michelin), Yvan LAETZIG (Yamaha – Michelin), Alexis LAMIRE (Yamaha Supported Team 41 Performance – Michelin) and Leo CHALLAMEL (Yamaha – Pirelli) are all candidates for the top 3 of this Challenger Championship.

TEMPORARY SITUATION SUPERBIKE
1 -Kenny FORAY – 230 points
2- Mike DI MEGLIO – 221 points
3- Alan TECHER – 175 points
4 – Corentin PEROLARI (Challenger) – 142 points
5 – Jérémy GUARNONI – 129 points

SUPERSPORT 600: GIMBERT WANTS TO FINISH IN BEAUTIFUL

This Supersport 600 Championship offered enthusiasts high-flying races that constantly challenged the hierarchy. However, this time one man seems to stand out from the crowd and will try to win the title of French Champion at home. This is the leader of the provisional classification, Johan GIMBERT (Yamaha – Pirelli), who with 9 podiums including 5 victories, is 40 points ahead of his runner-up and appears to be the big favorite.

Formidable competitors could come and thwart the plans of the Var. Enzo DE LA VEGA (Yamaha – Pirelli) currently second overall has continued to get on the podium and will do everything he can to make the task difficult for Johan GIMBERT. Another battle will take place for 3rd place in the Championship between Loïc ARBEL (Yamaha – Pirelli), who provisionally occupies this rank, and Matthieu GREGORIO (Yamaha – Pirelli), 4th, only 5 points behind. A few lengths away, Hugo ROBERT (Yamaha – Pirelli) and Bartholomé PERRIN (Yamaha – Pirelli), 5th and 6th, are tied on points. On the last stages PERRIN seems to be gaining the upper hand, but ROBERT has not said his last word.

Among the young people, the title is therefore acquired for Bartholomé PERRIN while Gabin CAZARD (Yamaha – Pirelli) and Diego PONCET (Kawasaki – Pirelli) will fight until the end to become Vice-Champion.

SUPERSPORT 300: 5 DRIVERS STILL IN THE COMPETITION

This 300 Supersport 2023 season is definitely a great vintage. Four drivers can still mathematically win the title. Starting with Cyprien BABY (Yamah – Pirelli), leader with 199 points and 8 podiums, he brilliantly won in the last race and arrives with full confidence at Castellet. Ryan CHAUVEAU (Kawasaki – Pirelli), 2nd, with only 22 points, is ideally placed to pull the rug out from under him. The best dynamic seems to be for Justine PEDEMONTE (Yamaha – Pirelli), author of major performances during the last rounds, she is 23 points behind the leader. D'Jefferson DELBOSC (Kawasaki – Pirelli) has 29 points to go, a slightly larger gap but not insurmountable.

For Kilian ROSSIGNOL (Kawasaki – Pirelli), the title is no longer achievable but the driver of the Kawasaki #24 will be keen to achieve a 2nd victory to finish in the top 3 of the Championship.

SIDECAR: PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT: THE TITLE WITHIN REACH

If there is one team that wants this title of French Sidecar Champion, it is PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT (F600)! After narrowly missing it in past seasons, they now have 308 points, enough to arrive with a lot of confidence for this final. Valiant runner-up to the leader, WYSSEN / SALMON (F600), will try to thwart the favorite.

Provisionally 4th overall, LEGLISE / DRUEL is in a good position to take back the 3rd place held by PAYNE / ROUSSEAU. Already F2 Champion, PALACOEUR / CESCUTTI also aims to enter the top 3 in the scratch rankings, which would be an achievement for a short chassis.
