From a contrasting Dutch weekend, as Hervé Poncharal points out, Johann Zarco only intends to remember the positive side, thus noting his continued progress towards the moment when he will contest the podium on a regular basis.

Current best Rookie of the year and latest winner on the German circuit in Moto2 (2nd in 2015), the Tech3 rider approaches the Sachsenring with confidence and determination, while the weather forecast predicts the same conditions as in 2016.

Johann zarco, 6th in the championship with 77 points: “The Sachsenring is an interesting track which is rather small, but where there are a lot of left turns. I won the race there last year when it was raining a lot, and it's a pleasant memory. Of course it would be great to have three days of good weather this time, but we'll see what happens. I have a good feeling on the bike and I'm happy with the way the weekend in Assen went because I got pole position there and I was strong there at the start of the race. I want to stay on this pace so that I can fight again and have the opportunity to get on the podium at Sachsenring, which would be fantastic before the summer break. »

Hervé Poncharal : “We won't have much rest between the two races, but there will have been just enough time to drive, fly and sort everything out for the all-important German Grand Prix. We have mixed feelings about the Dutch Grand Prix. On the one hand, both drivers did a really good job and were really fast. Johann's pole position was fantastic, as was Jonas' second row was his best qualifying so far, and we were all happy that evening. Yet, unfortunately, the next day was a disappointment. Johann led for almost half the race, but in the end he only scored the 2 points for 14th place, which was definitely not what we expected. As for Jonas, for the first time since the start of his career in MotoGP, he did not score any points. If we want to be positive, they are in good shape, no one was hurt and we are ready to recover from this disappointment. It will be a significant weekend for us in Germany, because it is the home Grand Prix for Jonas. We know how important Germany is in terms of the motorcycle market and economy, so we want to give Jonas fans something to cheer about. We know he can do really well and hopefully he can do it at home since he has the speed, the talent and the attitude. Let's get ready for the last event before the summer vacation, and we will absolutely do our best, as always. We're looking forward to FP1 on Friday at the Sachsenring, so 'gentlemen start your engines!' »
