From his first lap, and logically, Danilo Petrucci, who has just measured the track in the wet in Q1, sets a first milestone in 1'28.671, leaving his opponents a second and a half behind.
But just as logically, the differences decrease on the second pass under the impulses of Dani Pedrosa, Jonas Folger and Pol Espargaro. The Tech3 pilot very briefly took command before Danilo Petrucci improves again, in 1'27.815.
At mid-session, the ranking is as follows: Petrucci, Pedrosa, Folger, Marquez, Pol Espargaro, Lorenzo, Bautista, Dovizioso, Crutchlow, Vinales, Aleix Espargaro and Valentino Rossi.
This is the moment when an altercation takes place between Maverick Vinales et Marc Marquez, the Honda driver ending up pushing Maverick Vinales squarely after the latter had overtaken him and then slowed down.

With rain tires, drivers do not need to enter the box during this session, but Valentino Rossi however decides to do it and fit a new tire.
After explaining with Maverick Vinales on what remains a racing fact, Marc Marquez first positioned himself in second position before taking pole position.
It is no longer raining and the track is even starting to dry on certain trajectories, which some drivers take advantage of to improve their position in the last minute. But despite all their efforts, Marc Márquez, in 1'27.302 remains at the top of the ranking.
Valentino Rossi will start from the 3rd row.
