With his fifteen World Champion titles, the Bergamo driver carefully follows the news of the Grands Prix, at which he is often present. During the PaddockTV show, he analyzed the current situation of Jorge Lorenzo, since his arrival at Ducati.

“I think Lorenzo thought a lot about his commitment, because basically he left a winning Yamaha to go to a more uncertain team. They were forced to give him a lot of money. The Ducati people thought they had a good bike and that Lorenzo was stronger than the two riders who were there, Dovizioso and Iannone. They then thought about taking Lorenzo, overpaid perhaps, but at least a winner.

“Ducati has no money to throw away on a rider who finishes third or fourth if he was entered because they thought they were taking a winning rider. Motorcycles have changed over the years. Stoner for example had a different electronic box, different tires… Please, Stoner was a big one, but the situation was different at the time.

“Dovizioso has done some great races, he loads the bike properly, feels comfortable on it. During the tests, he tries to fine-tune it without overdoing it. At the moment he is of a certain age, he is an excellent professional, he associates well with Ducati and, in fact, we are all amazed. We expected Lorenzo to come and blow everything up, and yet he is still behind Dovizioso.

“Lorenzo is a very sensitive person. If things go well, he's fantastic. If things go wrong, however, he gets nervous, throws his helmet away, doesn't sit down to talk with the engineers. It's unfortunately something he has inside of him. Probably he could use some help. When things go wrong, everyone must be united. If he's happy, he's cute, but if he's having difficulties, he loses his bearings. »
