Before becoming Director of Reparto Corse, Ducati's legendary competition department, Luigi Dall'Igna held the same position at Aprilia. It was there that he met a very successful young Spanish rider, Jorge Lorenzo, and the two men won the 250 world titles together in 2006 and 2007, then their paths separated before they are now together in Bologna.

“Our strong points are the engine and aerodynamics. We started from there, looking to improve some critical areas. Development is underway and we will see the real 2017 bike in Qatar.
“The only thing we have to do now is win the World Championship. There is no reason why we shouldn't do it, there are no excuses, no alibis. This is one of the main reasons we decided to hire Jorge. This is a team that wants to win and so we need to remove all excuses for losing. We changed our mentality and now we have the right one. It won't be easy, our competitors are strong, they have high quality elements, but we are here to try. »
