After a long summer break, the QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2 team is looking towards the second half of the season. After two complicated rounds before the holidays, Manuel Gonzalez found himself sixth in the championship. The one who has already won three podiums in 2024 hopes to take advantage of the last eleven meetings to confirm his potential, and finally achieve victory.
Since the start of the 2024 season, Manuel Gonzalez has had up-and-down performances. On the podium one Sunday, the Spaniard can finish the next one outside the top-10. He nonetheless remains one of the strong men of this first half of the season in Moto2. At 70 lengths from the head of the ranking, the No. 18 is currently defending sixth place in the championship.
Gonzalez therefore does not intend to act by appearing during this second part of the eleven-event long season. The one who just missed out on victory in Italy last June will not let it slip away a second time between now and Valencia. He also expects to achieve one of his strongest performances of 2024 this weekend.
“We have returned from the summer break with a huge desire to get back in the saddle, he confides on the sidelines of the British Grand Prix. After two difficult races before the break, during which we had worked well but where the result was not there, we made a mental reset. From Silverstone, I will do my best to achieve my goal.
Little by little we are getting closer to victory, He continues. These three weeks I have been calm, but I have also been training always focusing on the next race. What can be improved in general should be improved. Silverstone is a circuit where I have always had good races, and I think we could make it one of the best of the year here. »
On the other side of the garage, Albert Arenas is returning from a week of enriching experience in Japan which saw him achieve a podium at the Suzuka 8 Hours. Excellent preparation before the second part of the championship.
“I’m very excited to get back on the track, ready to get back into the championship. I am really motivated and confident. I think we can have a strong second part of the season. I want to reach my highest level. Silverstone is a track that I really like. I can’t wait to see the team again and get on my Moto2” concludes Arenas.
