The best time to beat was the 1'42.824 achieved during the first morning free practice session by Albert Arenas. The Ángel Nieto Team KTM rider then preceded Niccolò Antonelli and Gabriel Rodrigo by 0.1, Tony Arbolino by 0.2, and Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Aron Canet, Romano Fenati and John McPhee by 0.4. Can Öncü was unfortunately declared unfit to ride due to a fracture of his left collarbone. His brother Deniz immediately replaced him for the rest of the weekend.

The second free practice session started late due to track cleanliness problems, and was reduced by one minute. The air temperature was 25° and the asphalt temperature was 39°.

The first to achieve a significant time was Jaume Masiá in 1'43.568. Deniz Öncü fell on his third lap, without seriousness. Then Ayumu Sasaki improved to 1'43.600. Deniz Öncü managed to restart his KTM and brought it back to the Aki Ajo stand.

Halfway through the session, the times had still not gone down and remained relatively slower than those achieved in the morning. Sasaki dominated this FP2 ahead of Suzuki and Fenati. Sasaki's time would have earned him twelfth place in the morning FP1. Fabio Quartararo came to give some advice to his teammate Ayumu Sasaki:

Kaito Toba, who had already fallen in the morning, fell again without seriousness, this time in Turn 4 like Deniz Öncü a few minutes before him.

Marco Ramírez picked up the pace in 1'43.535, 0.061 ahead of Sasaki.

World Championship leader Lorenzo Dalla Porta took command in 1'43.142. We were only three tenths off the best time of the morning.

At the end of the session, all the drivers returned to the track for the last three minutes. Arenas took the lead in 1'43.017 while Arón Canet fell without seriousness in Turn 10, a fairly fast curve.

Arenas retained the best time of the afternoon, ahead of McPhee and Arbolino, as well as the best time of the day which he had set in the morning.
