If last week, Álex Márquez found himself on the mat following a clash with Lorenzo Baldassarri, this week, it is towards victory that flew away Catalan.

The driver of the EG 0,0 Marc VDS team triumphed this Sunday in Germany after escaping, like his brother Marc Marquez in MotoGP. Behind him is Brad Binder who went for second place, following a superb comeback from 17e position on the grid. Marcel Schrötter stood on the last step of the podium.

Alex Marquez : “I am very happy, and I find it hard to believe that I have just won this German Grand Prix. The weekend actually got off to a bad start, especially Saturday morning with our technical problems… Fortunately we took a good step forward for qualifying and I was able to take pole. I didn't think I had the pace to find myself alone in the lead. I told myself that I had to be patient and not make any mistakes to hope for a podium. And then when the others gave up, I was really happy. It's great to be able to regain the lead in the general classification just before the summer break. We will now take a breather to come back even stronger next month to attack the second half of the championship.”

Brad Binder : " I'm really very happy. My pace in the race was very good and I felt comfortable on the bike. In the middle of the race I had some difficulties, the bike was shaking a little but despite this I continued to keep a regular pace and attack as much as I could. It's a good thing and a great result for the team. I'm really happy and thank the team for the support and work they provide ».

Marcel Schrötter : " It's really great to achieve this podium here, it's the first at home. We didn't have an easy weekend because this track is quite difficult and I didn't necessarily feel confident. I think we did the job, we worked very hard for this race. Before the race we weren't sure which tires to use and we changed at the last moment. Ultimately, it didn't help me too much because I had some problems from time to time, but fortunately it didn't penalize me too much. It's a shame that I couldn't fight for first place but I'm still happy with the result ».

In the championship, Alex Marquez regains leadership with 136 points including 8 ahead of the Swiss Thomas Lüthi. Augusto Fernandez is 3th with 102 points.
