The Repsol Honda rider has finally managed to get back to the front, even if he is still missing something to get back to his usual place.

Following the announcement of his retirement Thursday at a press conference, everything suggested that Dani Pedrosa would return to the front during testing, given that he could finally ride with a free mind. However, his results on Friday were like his start to the season: complicated. First fourteenth in FP1, he then finished twentieth in FP2 due to a lack of feeling.

Fortunately, the sensations returned today, and the Spanish driver was tenth during FP3 this morning before progressing to eighth position in FP4. Qualified for Q2, which he had lacked in the last races, he did not manage to progress as he would have liked and could not do better than tenth.

Even though he found a good rhythm, he was still a little disappointed when he returned to the box: “Today we made good progress compared to yesterday, but we continue to have difficulty finding the right settings in certain areas, especially to fully exploit the new tires in qualifying. Unfortunately, our position on the grid is not very good because the lap times were very tight. Overall we improved our race pace, so tomorrow it will be important to try to get a good start and then manage the tires well throughout the race. »
