The Repsol driver had a hectic weekend with the announcement of his retirement. He has, however, returned to the top 10 in testing and racing, but that is still far from where he is used to being.

After finishing the day on Friday in twentieth position, Dani Pedrosa took a leap forward on Saturday by moving back into the top 10 from FP3. This allowed him to progress directly to Q2 where he qualified in tenth position, five tenths from pole position.

Although he was a little disappointed, he hoped he could have a good race with a good start. Although he managed to maintain his position on Sunday during the first laps, he did not manage to be really fast and was only able to overtake two drivers to take eighth place, which he kept until the end of the race.

If this remains much better than his fifteenth place at Assen, Pedrosa still cannot fight for victory, or even for the podium, which obviously does not satisfy him: “The race was disappointing because I have always been fast on this track, but we struggled all weekend with the bike setup. We managed to make a little progress here but I never felt completely comfortable. I more or less did the same times throughout the race, but it wasn't fast enough. We can't do anything other than continue working to improve the settings and the feeling on the bike. »
