Barely alighting from his official Honda RC213V, still delighted to have snatched his 9th consecutive pole position on the Sachsenring circuit, Marc Marquez spoke to the microphone of the official website MotoGP.com.

Marc, you worked a lot today and obtained pole position despite a big slide at turn 3. Did you change your plan regarding the front tire during the session?

Marc Marquez : “the team made a perfect strategy. I mean we used a new strategy here at Sachsenring: 2 laps, then one, then 2. That got me pole position because I was ready and we had enough time to prepare, to try and choose the front tire. And yes, I feel better with the hard, but it was also OK with the medium. But for the last run, I no longer had a new tire because the allocation is very low. We just attacked, and honestly, I didn't expect this pole because with the last tire, the one I felt the best with, I made a few mistakes. One at turn 3, like you said, where I almost crashed. But even despite that, I continued to attack and I had a good time. Then I made another mistake on the last lap and it was very difficult to recover what I had lost. But those 20 milliseconds were enough to get pole.”
