After a complicated start to the season, the Official Yamaha rider seems to have finally regained confidence and is ready to fight again for victory in order to end the first part of the season on a positive note.

Maverick Vinales had made a leap forward in Catalonia, but once again encountered difficulties at the start of the race. Having struggled to get a good start and to run with new tires and especially a full tank, he had lost a lot of time. Even if he had driven at the same pace as the first at the end of the race, it was too late to play for victory, or at least the podium.

Aware of his weak point, he worked on it a lot at Assen, and was finally able to solve his problems to play up front. Author of an incredible Grand Prix alongside Marc Márquez, Valentino Rossi, Andrea Dovizioso and Álex Rins, he managed to get on the podium and return to the race for victory, enough to put a smile on his face: “I'm really looking forward to the Sachsenring. I think we are preparing the bike well and we are starting to see things in a positive way, which allows us to finish the first part of the season well. Fortunately, I felt very comfortable at Assen and found the feeling I had in the past. We were able to resolve the small problem we had in the first laps of the race and this put us on par with the other drivers on the grid. The podium was a breath of fresh air and extremely motivated me to continue like this and give one hundred percent, as always. »

Invigorated by this podium, Viñales has a clear objective for the Sachsenring: “We have to fight to take as many points as possible and stay at the top of the Championship. Last year I finished off the podium at Sachsenring with fourth place, so this year we will give everything to get back on the podium and continue at the good pace we have. »
