The Sky VR46 Racing Team once again had an excellent weekend, and continues to lead the Drivers' Championship with Bagnaia.

The Aragon Grand Prix promised to be special for Francis Bagnaia who was going to celebrate his 100th World Cup start there. For once, he was not dominant, with only ninth position in combined times and fifth place in qualifying. Nevertheless, he had an excellent race and reached his ninth podium of the season, while his rival for the title, Miguel Oliveira, missed his weekend a little : “I am happy to celebrate my 100th start in the World Championship with a podium which also allows me to increase my lead by 19 points over Oliveira. I got off to a good start, had a good pace, and in the last laps I pushed hard to close the gap with Alex and Brad. I tried to pass Brad, but he closed the door and we touched each other. A racing fact. I was a little nervous and the tires were slipping a lot, but I tried to find my rhythm and get the best possible result. We now go to Thailand, a track very similar to Spielberg. There are a lot of expectations but also curiosity regarding this new route. »

Conversely, his teammate Luca marini was quite fast during practice, placing fourth in combined times, but he was less successful in qualifying and his race. He started in tenth position and crossed the checkered flag in eleventh place. A result which nevertheless allowed him to score five points: “The race was generally good, even if the final position was not the result I wanted. I was able to ride as I wanted in the second part of the race and had the same pace as those in front. Conversely, I had more difficulty at the start of the race and this is a point on which we must improve. After a good start, I lost places and the gap increased. From now on and until the end of the year, while preparing for next season, we must make progress on the management of the first five rounds. »
