After seven complicated races encountering the same problems, the Suzuki rider is finally back on the podium.

From Mugello, Andrea Iannone had not managed to fight at the front, and his last podium went back to Jerez! He complained every weekend of problems with grip, braking and acceleration, problems which prevented him from performing well at the end of the race. He can finally turn the page and get off to a good start thanks to the Aragon Grand Prix.

Sixth in free practice in combined times, he even took the second time in FP4 before qualifying on the second row, in fifth place, enough to envision a good race.

The Italian got off to a good start and immediately found himself in the leading group. Third for a long time, he attacked Andrea Dovizioso and Marc Márquez in the final laps and the three men engaged in a superb battle, but the Suzuki rider ultimately had to give in and settle for third position. He thus offers his third podium of the season and marks his return to the forefront: “I think we had a very good performance today. I had a good start but Lorenzo unfortunately crashed and it wasn't nice to see, it's always a bad thing to see someone crash in front of you. Anyway, I'm very happy with my race, I fought and attacked one hundred percent at the end of the race, but only at that moment because in the previous laps I wanted to save my tires. So I tried to manage the throttle and my driving style because I knew it could be really important to have good tires in the last laps. I think my strategy worked very well. The team and I worked hard together. We weren't in a good period but we are happy to get back on the podium after disappointing races. »
