After two excellent Grands Prix, the Tech 3 driver hopes to continue his momentum in Australia and then finish the season in the same way.
The overseas tour is so far very positive for Johann zarco. After a top 5 in Thailand, he took the front row in Japan before finishing in sixth position.
He therefore arrives in good spirits in Australia, a circuit which was very successful for him last year. We remember the formidable fight between him and Marc Márquez, Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales. He then finished fourth, a few thousandths off the podium which he then won in Malaysia and Valencia.
His latest results suggest that he could repeat his performance, or even end the season in style again, as he did in 2017. However, each season being different, he will wait to see where he stands in free practice. and especially in qualifying before considering an objective for the race.
What is certain is that he wants to come back and play up front, as he did last year: “Phillip Island is an incredible track, quite fast, and with MotoGP it’s pure adrenaline at every corner. My race last year on this track was fantastic and it would be great to ride in the lead group again this year. I know that my team also really appreciates this circuit and that helps me to have a high-performance bike. It's a nice place to ride. I hope we have good weather, because if it rains and it's cold, the conditions will be quite tricky. If, on the other hand, there is sunshine, it will certainly be fun. »
