This time, it's for good! The qualifying session kicks off the moment when results count in this Austrian Grand Prix which marks the eleventh meeting of the season. The route of the Red Bull Ring has so far been favorable to Kornfeil, Vietti and Arbolino. The tenors of the provisional general classification were content to defend. Will they be able to go on the offensive to counter the usual long-toothed underdogs?

31° in the air and 47° on the track with beautiful sunshine, these are the conditions proposed to the drivers for this qualifying session which will take place in two stages. A 1-minute Q15, at the end of which the four best drivers will continue the adventure in a quarter-hour Q2 which will determine the best positions on the starting grid.
Among the notable drivers found in his repechages are Masia, eliminated in the last seconds of FP3 due to a canceled best time, Migno, Fenati or even Arenas. Brothers Öncü are also there, like Darryn binder ou López who, in any case, will start from the pit lane to serve a penalty.

fenati signs the first reference in 1'37.236. Lopez, Nepa et Masaki follow. The first part of this first half nevertheless ends with a Migno leader in 1'37.158. The final minutes are launched with a narrowly missed clash between Masia et Can Öncü. The first city gets annoyed because many pilots want to follow him…

Masia was the wheel sought after and for good reason since it was he who finished at the top of these repechages. in 1'37.028, he closed the debates. Fenati, Migno et López follow him towards Q2.
And here we are in the final! Aron Canet has a problem with his KTM and it concerns the brakes. He's in the box. Drive falls at turn 3 and leaves with his machine. Suzuki signs a reference 1'36.788 ahead fenati.

Under the checkered flag, it's fenati who takes the lead in 1'36.460 ahead Sasaki et Masia who will be at Leopard in 2020… McPhee follows with Ogura et Tuff. Arbolino is eighth, ahead Dallas Port. Antonelli is 12th and the big loser is Canet, 14rd.
