It is Moto3 which opens hostilities in Catalonia which is celebrating 70 years of Grands Prix. During the last meeting, it was Tony Arbolino who opened his victory counter by winning his Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. In the process, he became the eleventh different winner in as many races in the category, a record since the previous value was nine successive different winners.
58 points cover the top 15 in the Moto3 Championship standings. This is the smallest gap recorded after the first six races of the season since the current points system was introduced in 1993.
Canet is championship leader on his KTM ahead Lorenzo Dalla Porta on Honda. In the last seven Moto3 races held in Catalonia, KTM has only won once, with louis salom in 2013.

Arbolino only makes one lap before returning to his stand, visibly annoyed by a technical problem. Garcia establishes the first reference in 1'51.256. He in front Canet and Tatay, who won the CEV race last weekend and on this same track.

Mid Road, Dallas Port takes the lead in 1'50.626. Yurchenko takes second position, two tenths behind the Italian second in the championship. fenati joins the leading trio. We recall that he regrets four consecutive blank results before arriving on the Montmeló route. As the last quarter of an hour arrives, Canet settles for tenth place.
At this stage of the session there are five Honda drivers in the top 5, including one Yamanaka who is a CEV pilot and who is ahead Tatay from the same origin in sixth position and first KTM.
