The start of this Catalan Grand Prix gave the Estrella Galicia team a double with Alonso Lopez in the lead. With Gabriel Rodrigo, that made three Hondas in the lead with three KTMs chasing them. In the last seven Moto3 races held in Catalonia, KTM has only won once, with Luis Salom in 2013.
The championship leader Canet was out of the top 10 and his runner-up overall Dallas Port even further since barely in the top 20. The latest winner to date Arbolino was no better, 19th. An exception or the prelude to a surprise in this meeting?

26° in the air and 41° on the track are the conditions offered to the protagonists for this second Moto3 free practice session. The morning leader Alonso lopez entry crash at turn 7. Tuff signs the first reference in 1'49.487. And it gets better for Dallas Port, second at 85 thousandths. Antonelli et Masia constitute the first head square.

Dallas Port shows that the morning was an incident by taking the lead with a 1'49.572. Garcia follows, as well as fenati. We note that with a quarter of an hour to go, the best time at the start of the afternoon is half a second slower than the best performance of the morning. Indeed, Rodrigo clocked a 1'49.451 which put him in command of the exercise.
Suzuki raise the tone in 1'49.375. The Hondas hold the top 8. Dallas Port accelerates in 1'49.213. The flag indicating a track wet by rain was presented six minutes from the goal. A few drops do indeed appear on the fairing bubbles. But others want to be clearer about it!
Is the track wet? @ 25RaulFernandez think so! 😂

The hostilities therefore stop with a Dalla Porta at the top of the afternoon, but with a López with the best time of the day.
