Currently second and third in the Moto3 World Championship, just three and eight points behind the leader, Marco Bezzecchi, the Del Conca Gresini teammates will give everything this weekend to take the lead in the standings and add a victory or a podium more to their list.

After two very complicated Grand Prix finishes at Jerez and Le Mans where he was involved in collective crashes which were not his fault, Jorge Martin returned to the top in Mugello with an absolutely perfect weekend. Leader of each session (FP1, FP2, FP3, Qualifications and Warm Up), he royally won against his two main opponents, Fabio Di Giannantonio, his teammate, and Marco Bezzecchi.

Reboosted by this victory, he arrives very motivated at his second home Grand Prix of the season and hopes to regain the lead in the Championship which he recently lost: “We are really looking forward to returning to the track, and especially to Montmeló where I have always been fast, and where I had one of the best results of the season in my first year. It's a track that I like, in particular because we race on the historic layout of the circuit, and it corresponds better to my driving characteristics. We arrive after the big victory in Mugello and, although the KTMs will be dangerous in Catalonia, we are ready to fight. »

Fabio Di Giannantonio had also been unlucky at Le Mans and had his victory taken away due to a penalty which ultimately caused him to finish fourth. In revenge, he tried everything to win at Mugello, but had to win against Martín and Bezzecchi. However, third in the Championship, he is well and truly at the forefront with many podiums. All he is missing is this famous first victory after which he has been chasing for months.

Determined to win it at each Grand Prix, he will try his luck again this weekend: “Barcelona is a special circuit, because every time we go there the track is different. Since I have been in the World Cup I have never raced on the same route. This year we are returning to the original layout, with more fast corners and it will be interesting to see how our Honda reacts. After a podium and a half victory, we must continue at this level. I train a lot to arrive physically prepared, but the heat will certainly have to be taken into account. »
