The Ducati team arrives at the Montmeló circuit for the Gran Premi de Catalunya. After their superb double on the Mugello circuit, the Ducati team riders are preparing for the seventh round of the season, which will take place this weekend at the Spanish circuit of Montmeló, on the outskirts of Barcelona.

A long main straight and numerous overtaking zones make the Catalan circuit one of the most spectacular on the entire calendar and the Catalan Grand Prix always attracts large numbers of spectators.

At Mugello, Jorge Lorenzo et Andrea Dovizioso achieved a truly historic feat by securing the Italian manufacturer's first 1-2 victory on the splendid Tuscan circuit. The Spanish rider, after an excellent start, remained in the lead for the duration of the race, taking his first victory on a Ducati in front of the Italian fans, while Dovizioso took advantage of an unusual setback from leader Marc Marquez to reduce the gap between them in the general classification.

Three weeks ago, the two riders of the Ducati team also took part in a day of testing on the Catalan circuit, obtaining a series of interesting indications for the GP in conditions which should not be very different from those expected this weekend.

Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso were classified 3rd and 5th respectively.

Last year, it was Andrea Dovizioso who triumphed at the Catalan Grand Prix, the Italian winning the second of his six victories in 2017, while Jorge Lorenzo finished fourth after a strong comeback. Four victories in eight years are an excellent indicator of the Spanish driver's level of performance on the Catalan circuit.

All the indicators are therefore green for the Borgo Panigale troops, and Andrea Dovizioso intends once again to showcase the power of the Italian V4 in the long Catalan straight...

Andrea Dovizioso, 4th in the championship: “In the last three races we fought for victory on three completely different tracks, so I know we are working well and we are fast. We have to stay calm because a lot can happen in every race and you have to have a clear head to get the best possible result. In the test in Barcelona, but also in the one in Mugello, we were a little slower than our competitors, but in MotoGP it is clear that the time on a single lap is not very important, and so we are going to Barcelona very excited and fully confident.”
