Jack Miller had an eventful Saturday on the Bugatti route. He first presented himself as the good Samaritan of Joan Mir who was pushing his Suzuki towards the pits after a morning fall. The kind of fathoms he is now almost accustomed to having already helped out Rins and Casa Particular in Viñales in the past... Then he waited for the best moment to deliver the blow during the qualifying session which could have gone even better without a fall. Here he is as a spoilsport of choice for the race this Sunday…
A position which is not necessarily good news for a Dovizioso, Ducati official, who will start right behind him. The 24-year-old Australian explains: “ I didn't put pressure on myself and I first looked at what was happening in Q1 before comparing the times with FP4. I saw that the guys on wet tires were running in the 1'39 range. At the end of Q1, it was quite dry and Valentino Rossi came out riding slicks ».
The Pramac Ducati rider adds: “ When I took to the track, my intention was to attack straight away. By turn 7, the rain had already soaked everything. On my second attempt, I was faster in my first sector, but unfortunately, I fell ».
« I have a chance to get on the podium, I have good pace. The 27 laps will be very tough, even more so if the track is wet, so I hope it will be dry ". It remains to be seen how we will manage this situation at Ducati with the leader Dovizioso behind a Miller with podium ambitions who will want to dominate Petrucci right in front of him to steal his place in 2020…
