Maverick Vinales experienced a mixed start to the season marked by starts to the race so timid that they then overshadowed a good result that the poor qualifications suggested. During the last Spanish Grand Prix, the Yamaha official was more solid during this phase of the race, which allowed him to get on his first podium of the season. A result that the teammate of Valentino Rossi wants to take as a reference to repeat as often as possible, starting with this weekend at Le Mans.

The French Grand Prix has often left good memories Maverick Vinales. He took his first Grand Prix victory at the Bugatti circuit in 2011 in 125cc on what was then only his fourth start. He qualified on pole in Moto3 in 2013 before winning the race. In 2014, he finished fourth in the Moto2 race. 2015 saw him qualify in 13th position and finish ninth in the MotoGP class. In 2016, he finished in third place, his first podium in the flagship discipline and the first for a Suzuki on this track in eight years.

In 2017, he took his fourth victory in the premier class after taking pole position after battling with Red. It was Yamaha's 500th Grand Prix victory. In 2018, Casa Particular in Viñales qualified in eighth place and dropped to thirteenth before making his way through the field to cross the finish line in seventh.

A nice route in Sarthe that he would like to further embellish. “ Third place in Jerez was a big boost to my confidence” said Casa Particular in Viñales before the 32nd edition of the French Grand Prix. “I have a lot of positive impressions at Le Mans. The Bugatti circuit is a circuit that I really like and which has given me the best results of my career”.

« I think Le Mans is a track where I have a good chance of being with the leading men again." insists the 3 Moto2013 world champion. “ I really enjoy driving there. I hope the weather stays consistent, otherwise it could be a tough weekend. But we will see that. In Austin we were also fast in the rain, so we're curious how that will play out for us starting on Friday.".

It will be recalled that the weather forecasts promises terrible weather at Le Mans this weekend…
