During the press conference ahead of the Shark Helmets French Grand Prix held on Thursday at the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, Johann Zarco was asked what he thought of the statements by Stefan Pierer, the big boss of KTM, about him.

Far from appearing disturbed, the double French world champion responded with the greatest calm…

Johann zarco : “I was only able to read Stefan Pierer's comments when I was flying back from Jerez, that is to say well after he had made them. I didn't get to talk to him directly but I had a good conversation with Pit Beirer and I understood why he said that. I was a bit on fire after the crash and I didn't say nice things about the bike that I have to develop and whose performance I have to accept at the moment. I might have lost a little control at that moment, and when the media went to see him to try to tickle him with that, he could only respond that way since it's his money that finances this project . You also know what Stefan is like: he has a strong character and when you tickle him, he responds. I wouldn't say it's fair game, but it's part of the challenge. We know we have to be patient and improve this project, but we know it will take time and sometimes, in the moment, we can lose control a little. So it doesn't make me sad and I'm not sad about his comments, because I understood them. Now it will be much better and I really hope and cross my fingers that this weekend will be a good response to everything we read in the media last week.”
