Invigorated by a consecutive podium and victory, the Ducati rider arrived in great shape on the British track, but noticed, like everyone else, the poor state of the track.

After two Grands Prix further inside, Jorge Lorenzo returned to the forefront with a podium finish in Brno and a very nice victory in Austria following a duel with Marc Márquez in which he had the last word. Invigorated by his two performances, he arrived very motivated on the Silverstone circuit.

Although he finished in front, he encountered difficulties this morning. Indeed, despite his sixth place in FP1, he finished one second behind the best time. He and his team made changes between the two sessions that worked in FP2. The Spanish driver was indeed able to finish much closer to first place in terms of times. Despite a fifth place which only moved him up one position between the morning and the afternoon, he nevertheless finished just three tenths behind the best time achieved by his teammate, Andrea Dovizioso, which is good augurs well for the rest of the weekend.

However, the weather remains uncertain and this will have to be taken into account, but Lorenzo is rather confident given his results this Friday: “I'm quite happy with the work we did today, because we were able to improve the bike between this morning and this afternoon. I felt much better during the second session and we resolved some adjustment issues. If we continue like this, I think we will be able to lower our times even more and fight for the first places. Despite the fact that the asphalt has been resurfaced, the track has even more bumps than before and the grip has not improved. This is the reason why we were not able to achieve better times today. »
