Franco Morbidelli was very successful this weekend on the Silverstone track. Despite a twentieth place in FP1, he finished fourteenth in FP2 and especially seventh in FP3, an excellent result. However, he was able to take the start of qualifying and gave his all but was unable to fight against the two official drivers, Bradley Smith and Álex Rins. He ultimately had to settle for thirteenth place, despite one of his best qualifications this season.
