Rider Marc VDS was one of those who fell in the famous dangerous zone of the circuit on Saturday, and his bike unfortunately hit Tito Rabat who was seriously injured. He returned to this moment to crash.net, and also commented on the cancellation of the race.

Franco Morbidelli was very successful this weekend on the Silverstone track. Despite a twentieth place in FP1, he finished fourteenth in FP2 and especially seventh in FP3, an excellent result. Unfortunately, he did not manage to qualify directly for Q2, but his tenth time in FP4 gave hope for good things. However, this session was interrupted by the red flag following the falls of several drivers, including Morbidelli, in a wet area of the circuit. He was unable to avoid falling and his motorbike hit Esteve Rabat, in fairly apocalyptic conditions: “The rest of the track was almost dry, but when we got to this part it was hell. Then I lost the front. There were flags there, where other riders had crashed, but I hadn't seen anything until I got there. The end of FP4 was quite dangerous. These are especially the conditions of turns 7 and 8 because with the accumulation of water, it is impossible to drive. We had rain tires but I saw a wall of water in front. I tried to slow down as I got into the zone, but it was impossible to control the bike. »

However, he was able to take the start of qualifying and gave his all but was unable to fight against the two official drivers, Bradley Smith and Álex Rins. He ultimately had to settle for thirteenth place, despite one of his best qualifications this season.

Morbidelli was unable to achieve his good qualification on Sunday, due to the cancellation of the race: “It’s sad that the race was canceled. It hurts for the fans who spent the day waiting, but in races safety remains the most important thing. Now I can't wait to be in Misano. We did some testing there recently and I think we are ready to have a good race. »
