Barely got off his Yamaha M1 from the Monster Tech3 team after having obtained the first row during qualifying for the British Grand Prix, Johann Zarco spoke to the microphone of the official website MotoGP.com with the slight regret of thinking that he could have done even better...

Johann, you said on Thursday that Silverstone was a circuit where the driver could make the difference. You made it. What do you feel ?

Johann zarco : “yes, I was able to do it, above all because of the conditions. Having wet tires with an almost dry track is something I like on the bike and I can really make a difference. The others started rather quickly and I also had to push quite a bit to be in the good times. Then I tried to let the tires cool down before attacking again. I had a good time and was first. Then I slowed down again but Marc was there waiting, with Maverick and Iannone. But I knew I had an advantage, so I didn't want to help them be faster. I tried to wait, wait, wait, then there was only time for one lap to attack, on the edge of the checkered flag. It was a good lap and I was able to improve to stay on the front row, but I fought with Marc. I overtook him and he passed me again, and I think we lost a little bit of time for pole position. We must therefore appreciate this first line. We don’t know what the conditions will be tomorrow, and we had this opportunity to be in front and stay in front until the end tomorrow.”
